Our new 3/8 in stubby impact wrench delivers the most power, is lighter weight and more compact while delivering 50% faster application speeds. Leveraging POWERSTATE brushless motor, the stubby delivers 0 to 3000 rpm with up to 550 ft-lbs of nut busting torque, allowing the removal of the most corroded and stubborn applications. Our solution delivers on performance and size, at only 2.2 lb bare tool. Users will experience less fatigue throughout their work week while fitting into tight spaces and allowing access where larger impacts can't fit without using additional accessories or disassembling components to reach the desired fastener. Equipped with Tri LED work lights to illuminate your work area without the frustration of shadows. Four-mode DRIVE CONTROL for greater precision and customization to your desired power output, including AUTO SHUT-OFF that applies no more than 15 ft-lbs of torque for hand-tight applications that prevent overtightening when in forward. In reverse, bolt removal mode will slow down the rpm once the bolt is free to prevent bolts from flying around your work area. To change the modes, it is a single-handed operation. By shifting the forward-reverse shuttle into neutral and double-tapping the trigger, you will be able to change modes effortlessly.

1/2 inch Stubby Impact!

Wow this little guy exceeded my expectations. As a retired auto mechanic, being old school and having air tools, I decided to give this a try. So far it hasn't failed to remove any bolts (2016 and newer vehicles so far) including crankshaft pully bolts. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid impact. Oh and by the way, that was using a generic battery off amazon. I orders 2 high output batteries just to see if it makes a big difference.

Absolutely a beast

I bought both the 3/8 and 1/2 version. I also purchased the Milwaukee 3/8 impact sockets set. These are absolute beasts. I used the 3/8 replacing the rear leaf springs on my superduty. I broke the bolts free with a long breaker bar and a pipe they were that tight but the little impact got them out after that. Some were rusted but the might little impact got the job done. It was awesome that it was so small and no hoses to impede movement. It fit in the tight area without having to use a impact universal. These are my go to impacts for everything now. Sure it won't bust a harmonic balancer bolt but for most other jobs it's going to be a godsend. Money well spent.

Doesn’t do the job as advertised - disappointing

I purchased this tool earlier this week to do my winter tire change. I was pretty excited to use it after doing a good amount of research and watching videos which seemed to indicate that it would tackle any lug nut removal. However, this was not my experience. This morning I attempted to change my tires only to experience a disappointing outcome. After spending so much on a tool including the extra bits like the socket and battery, and then to have to call to schedule an appointment with my mechanic to do the change for me, definitely not impressed at all.

Great tool overall, but NO WAY to 550 ft. lbs.!
5 January 2025

I really like this compact impact wrench, not only because of the quality, but it’s light weight and really handy in tight spaces. Having said that, I can’t imagine how they came up with 550 ft. lb. of “nut busting” torque. Maybe it'll do that under ideal laboratory conditions, but not out in the field. In my experience it works quite well at loosening up to say 150 ft. lbs. torque and maybe a bit more if you’re willing to let it hammer away for awhile.

Bought this a few months ago for home use, and A HIGH OUT PUT battery as i heard from reviews the tool requires it to get the full 550 ft lbs. (if it was good i would buy for work as well)watched a lot of you tube reviews that actually proved 500+ ft lbs. was true.(with HIGH OUT PUT batteries) (420ft lbs. with standard Batteries)Everyone praising its torque etc so i bought one.well i was surprised, It struggled 5 to 10 seconds a lug nut to remove my properly torqued to 95ft lbs. lug nuts on my car when switching winter tires on this fall. Threads are clean and not rusty. One lug wouldn't even come off. I then Aired up compressor and grabbed my cheap 12+ year old Princess Auto 1/2" Pneumatics impact and it zip right off in one burp of the trigger one ... MoreBought this a few months ago for home use, and A HIGH OUT PUT battery as i heard from reviews the tool requires it to get the full 550 ft lbs. (old style still better but still not Bad)

My favorite tool from Milwaukee

The Milwaukee M12 FUEL 12V Stubby Impact Wrench is a powerhouse packed into a small, durable frame. With 550 ft-lbs of torque, advanced features, and Milwaukee’s trusted quality, it’s a must-have for anyone who demands performance and versatility in their tools. It’s one of the best impact wrenches in its class and an excellent investment for a wide range of applications.

Not as strong as I expected
29 November 2024

Bought it 2 weeks ago and tried it today to take off my summer tires on my wife’s Civic only torqued at 90 foot lbs and it struggled to break them loose with my new high output 5.0 battery, very disappointed in this tool that I reviewed so much. This is my first Milwaukee tool that disappointed me and I own a lot of Milwaukee tools. Might return it and keep using my corded impactEdit: I have reached out to Milwaukee social Media like they asked under my review but have not had a response

Not what I expected. Sticking with Gen1

Bought this and the 3/8 new stumbles just over a month ago. Was excited, as I was waiting for the new stubbies for over 2 years. Tried it out. Lo and behold, the grip is different, the mode change is a pain and needs getting used to. However, gave it a chance.I kept hitting thr trigger to neutral due to the grip being higher. Nothing else like it in its class!
5 October 2024

Absolutely amazing tool, i was able to grab one at my local home depot and was searching everywhere to get my hands on this tool and they finally had one in stock. I was very excited since this new stubby is rated for 550ft/lbs and i needed to experience it for myself. My first use of this tool was next level. Compared to the old stubby impact with 250ft/lb of breakaway torque this new gen stubby is nothing else like it in its class. The new lights around the drive are nice and bright providing great lighting, and the new feature to switch between modes is so intuitive and easy to use. Overall for this tools size, price, power, and maneuverability, i give this tool a well deserved 100/10. Would highly recommded this tool👍

Rare miss by Milwaukee

Good quality. Just disappointed in the power. Not really worth the money in my opinion. Had a caliper bracket bolt that wouldn't budge with this guy. Big impact didn't even breathe hard on 2 to get it out. I realized it wouldn't be as powerful, but I thought it would be better. Like I said, not worth the money for the power you get.
