Magimix 5200XL Food Processor - 18590AU - 18591AU 18592AU, Mirror Chrome

Generally speaking, Im quite happy with this machine, though I dont know whether its just because I always wanted a food processor, and whether I wouldnt be as happy or happier with a competing product possibly at fraction of the price.I chose Magimix as it seemed to be a well established name, and it offered a great selection of peripheral accessories sadly quite pricey, but they can be easily picked up for next to nothing on eBay. Its definitely powerful and helps blast through a lot of kitchen chores.However theres a couple of striking design choices that make me wish Id gone for alternative processors the lid design seems to make washing up longer than it could be the lid is very big and tall and has lots of crevices and angles, and they all get dirty fast, as well as 3 moving parts that are meant to make processing of big chunks easier, but really just add to the cleaning effort the jug is the biggest mystery to me its meant to replace a blender jug, and yet it makes me think it was designed by someone who never cooked in their life 1. Its got no volumeunit marking to it, not even simplest 100ml500ml1000ml. 2. Theres no spout to it, making pouring liquids an adventure every time. 3. Its huge but you can only fill 23 of it, and even that only when juicing, not when blending When slicinggrating using discs, surprisingly large chunks the ends of fruitveggies are left unprocessed. Not a big issue with say a cucumber, I can just eat it, but a bit worse when grinding 1012 potatoes. Im stuck with 12 leftovers I need to pick out from the jug and then try grind againRegarding accessories theres no coffeeherb mill, shame the citrus juicer is ok but it works at an excessive speed, where holding the fruit is a challenge and its not easy to get all the juice out theres a centrifugal juicing attachment big YAY but its not very efficient. Compared to my very basic Philps juicer it yields 15 less I ran very accurate tests and also I need to empty the dry pulp container halfway through making 23 glasses of juiceIts not a bad product, I love having it at home, making pesto, chopping onion, getting cheese, slicing everything in seconds ...and maybe all processors struggle with somemost of the above issues its just that with that price tag, you really cant help but feel a bit disappointed.

Very sturdy mixer! Wow what a difference, the blades are so sharp and its pretty quiet too. Makes easy work of mixing and chopping! Makes my old Kenwood food processor look like an amateur! Great purchase! Would definitely recommend!

First of all, it’s a beautiful object, we have a place for it, on the kitchen counter. It’s easy to use and clean. It makes cooking and baking so much easier. The book that comes with it is also very good and we’ve already made a lot of the recipes from it. We’re really pleased with the Magimix and very glad we bought it.

A dependable workhorse

The Magimix 5200XL has already earned its permanent place on my worktop to complement a stand mixer with a blender attachment, and a hand blender. The fixed medium speed, high torque motor makes it ideal for slicing/grating quickly and accurately. The three buttons on the front are positive in action if a little clunky. I can't see many claims on the the 30 year motor warranty. Other parts above the base have a 3 year warranty on registration and replacements are readily available online from an approved supplier. The accessory box is a little quirky in that there is not enough space for the small blade, which is best kept in the mini bowl when different configurations are used. It's possible to slice/grate directly into the large bowl. One thing not mentioned anywhere is that the smsll push tube has a hole in the bottom to introduce liquids at a slow rate for sauces such as mayonnaise. Overall it's relatively quiet, sturdy and I like it.

Fantastic Magimix Premium food processor

Thrilled with my new Magimix Premium. It replaced an older smaller model I have had for 20 yrs. Love the bigger bowls and the great capacity and still giving me smaller bowls for small quantities.The blades are very precise in their cutting, and absolutely would not hesitate to recommend this machine.

Magimix - excellent product

Why did I wait so long to purchase this hard working piece of Kitchen kit? This was a lockdown treat for me as I am feeding a family of five, every meal every day & I LOVE it ! The click of the safety switch, easy to clean - beautiful and does the job. I have made scones, mayonnaise, Lemon sorbet, chocolate mousse, chopped salads and veg! Potato dauphinois. Pizza dough & bread. Everything has turned out perfectly. It is large and tall so does not fit in the specially designed corner kitchen cupboard with power - because of the height of feed chute. Magimix 5200XL Food Processor 18591

Its a fine machine when it works but dont get an amazon warranty with it. Mine has stopped working after 15 months use. As there was no evidence of power to it I changed the changeable fuse in the mains plug. You would think this is a sensible move. Check if ti is a simple fuse issue. No. The insurers, amazon protect, are currently sending me repetitive emails querying whether the product manual specifically states that customers are allowed to change the changeable fuse in the mains plug. Ridiculous. If you want a machine that lasts 15 months then buy this machine but at present I cannot recommend it. And certainly do not get en extended warranty via amazon.EDIT Have finally managed to get the item uplifted for service. Lets see how this goes.

Magimix 5200XL is Magical

Bought the Magimix 5200XL as l am familiar with this brand. It is a robust kicthen helper and very functional for my food prep. It will last you a long time. I know because my last one is 30 years old and is still working. Time to reward myself with a new model!

Must buy! It’s an appliance we should all own

I love my new Magimix Premium 5200XL Food Processor, it is so easy to make drinks, sauces, and meals from scratch. In hindsight you don’t really need a stand mixer in your appliance cupboard. This Food Processor does it all.

Very happy, worth the money

I am so thrilled with my Magimix 5200XL so far! It feels so solid and sturdy and is super easy to use.We are a family of 5 and my husband bought me a cheaper (but supposedly still good quality) kitchenaid food processor 3 years ago whose motor wasn’t so powerful and just couldn’t cope with the quantities I was trying to work with - so the blade would often jam when I was making things like bliss balls or burgers. I’d often also find myself fiddling around taking the lid on and off so I could push ingredients back down into the bowl to be blended properly. It ended up being easier/faster just to do things by hand or with a stick blender :-(So The first thing I made with my new magimix was lamb burgers and it chopped up the onion and parsley so finely and then ... MoreI am so thrilled with my Magimix 5200XL so far!
