Milwaukee 48228424 - Packout Tool Box

Strong, durable, weather-proof. I bought this for the galley in my Teardrop trailer; I use it to store my kitchen gear (dishes, cups, glasses, linens, etc). It’s doesn’t add a lot of weight and the locking bar ensures the drawers don’t open while I’m travelling. Fit perfectly in my space too!!

A Good Fit

My contractor brother recommended ACME tools and this Milkwaukee-Packout set. He uses the Milwaukee-Packout system and so I purchased this set. Not disappointed at all. Already have them packed full; just taking time to rearrange for best use of the space. Ordered online without any problem. When talking with ACME about the order they were easy to deal with and very helpful. There was a glitch on their website that was preventing seeing an order but customer service successfully walked me around the glitch. I will buy more Milwaukee products from ACME.

An effective way to keep my main tools together

I had my tools scattered across multiple tool carriers and tool boxes. I needed to get them into one as I am doing some work on our remote property on weekends and always tend to forget something or other, so having the important, commonly used handtools in one place makes this a great option. It's rugged enough to be tossed into the back of the car or whereever. I got the Packout instead of other similar options as it seems to have the best expansion capability

Best Tool Box Combo on the Marketq

I started looking at the Milwaukee Packout around Christmas when searching for gifts. Right after Christmas I realized I had about 6 various tool boxes. The beauty of the Packout is it has the largest wheels of any I found and that matters when you are going over rough terrain. The boxes lock together well and are absolutely water tight. I had mine on a job site and left it outside one evening. We had a massive thunderstorm and everything inside was dry. Not a single drop of water.The boxes open and close easily and the carrying system is ingenious. For the price there is no better system I have seen.

Excellent product

I pre-ordered the Milwaukee Packout 3 piece tool box kit for my wife as an anniversary I pre-ordered the Milwaukee Packout 3 piece tool box kit for my wife as an anniversary present last August to use when she transports her sewing machine, fabric, and other supplies to her Girl Scout meetings for use when they make the comfort items for the patients undergoing cancer treatment in the hospital where my she was treated. The tool box and large tool box arrived sometime around the estimated shipping date of October 15, but the rolling tool box didn't arrive until December. As of yet she hasn't used any of them, but I have used them on two week long trips to our youngest daughter's house. The tool box and the large tool box made the trip both times and all three were indispensable for both transporting and keeping everything organized. They are solidly built, strong, easy to stack and then take apart. When stacked, the lid of whichever box is on top can be opened without removing it from the stack, you only have to lower the handle if there is only one box stacked on the rolling tool box. The carry tool boxes have at least two ways to carry them, and when all three are stacked together, tilting it back to roll them is easy. Once you are rolling them they are very well balanced. easy to roll and maneuver, and the handle is strong and sturdy enough that it was more than capable of handling all three boxes when they were fully loaded. I like that when you raise the top carry handle on the large tool box it locks the lid to keep it from opening when you pick it up in case you've forgotten to latch the latches. Speaking of the latches, except for the latch hook they are plastic, but they are robust enough that I don't think they'll ever break, but if they do and it's not due to abuse, they have a limited lifetime warranty.

Extremely durable and dearly missed

I "WAS" the proud owner of a Milwaukee Pack Out stacked tool box that fell off the back of my pickup truck because the tailgate latch let go and the tool box rolled out onto the road. It fell out somewhere between Monroe Avenue and Geer Road on Route 201/East Main Street in Griswold, CT 06351 on the 4th of July as I was responding to an emergency call for no AC or power in an RV at a campground. I realized it had fallen out about a mile and a half away from where I suspected it fell out. Returning and retracing my drive path within 5-10 minutes of realizing it had fallen out. It was gone. Nowhere to be found, nor pieces of it or any of the thousands of dollars worth of tools, meters and test equipment in it. Good toolbox

This box was purchased as my go bag tool box. The rubber seals appear to keep dust and moisture out. The box is quite sturdy though i am not a big fan of the plastic hinge on the lid. Yes it is a full length piano hinge but the fingers are plastic. Time will tell. The latches are very heavy duty. Rubber seal not as tight as it could be but the design seems like it will exclude light rain. I have 60 lbs of wrenches and sockets in it. The handle is plenty strong. The internal trays appear adequate. Would have liked them to be tougher and thicker. I like how they stay in place when the lid is closed. So far, i am happy and contemplating getting another bigger one for my carpentry and plumbing tools. May end up with the pack roller box too. Great Tool Box!

I love the sturdiness and multiple organizational bins. My only gripe is although it looks great directly on top of my rolling tool box, there is not enough gap between it and the extension handle so you cannot open the lid all the way while it is in the locked position. Other than that, it's great!

Sturdy and adaptable work assistant.

All the Packout boxes are great and it's a study and helpful system to getting things done. This one is particularly helpful for the compartments and the ability to organize it in so many different ways. Like all of them you will want to have the cart if you have more than three because when loaded with tools and/or screws, nails, etc. they can get pretty heavy to lug around.

Undoubtedly

So I've had my packout set for about 3 years and can't come up with one single compliant. It's tough, durable and very well thought out. Milwaukee has the tool storage industry down to a science. But leave it to me to push it to the limits. I was in a bad car wreck on my way home from work about 2 weeks ago.(broken femur, broke pelvis,3 broken ribs and bruised and bleeding lungs) The work van and my packout kit were both totalled unfortunately. Every box was stacked together and it was ratchet strapped to the wall of the van but that still wasn't enough. Every box is also busted, cracked and warped. But my tools inside we're fine. I was wondering what I can do (if anything) to possibly get a new set. I'm a Milwaukee man for life!!
