There is one little caveat though: In your ORBI APP you will only see the NEW Orbi. The way you can check this is: if you have a device (a mobile phone purchased after 2020) you should see the little "6" next to your WiFi connection when you are connected to the NEW ORBI. If you get closer to the OLD Orbi satellite, the little "6" will go away. This means you are connected to the OLD Orbi. Good luck.

I spent a lot of money (probably shouldn't have as we couldn't really afford to) but I wanted to future proof our household for the next 5 to 10 years (hopefully). This is during any time of the day or evening (when internet usage is at its peak). So thank you Netgear for your amazing products. I have stood by them for many many years now and can honestly say I wouldn't choose another company over them. I have always purchased the latest and greatest from them and each time they have performed exceptionally well. It was just time to upgrade my Nighthawk R8000 AC3200 Tri Band router because the wifi was starting to fail after many years of usage. I now use it for testing purposes when helping other people set up their home systems and have no idea what to get. I also recommend my customers to always choose Netgear products because of the quality and service I have always got from Netgear. The constant firmware upgrades are easy to do and setting up a newtwork is a breeze with Netgear. All I can say is thank you to Netgear. We LOVE the Orbi AX6000 3 pack system!

I've brought this up with Support, and they say it's a feature they will consider. The speed of the WiFi of either the router or a satellite is, as I said, very good. However, the gigabit ethernet ports don't seem to be able to match that speed. So, while I have the building with ethernet hardwired, if the particular network device needs the bandwidth, it uses the Wi-fi. I'm not certain of what the issue is there, other than that's my real-world experience.

Great Performance, Reliability and Security

Reliability, performance and security are a priority for my home network and home automation system. Consistent, dependable wifi coverage and performance are a secondary priority but still important to me. The upgrade to the AX6000 system didn't disappoint and worth the investment. I'm getting vast improvement in network performance and solid reliability. The wifi coverage is consistently performing at full internet speeds throughout the whole house, basement, garage and outdoor patio space. Very impressive. The Orbi phone application works extremely well with useful dashboards, network mapping, security control etc. I feel like I have a much better handle on the network security. Handles a large home very well
16 June 2022

Fastest speed I've had. I had the RBK753 from Costco & an ASUS XT8. Returned that to get this as I upgraded to 2Gig. I consistently get around 1400 MBPS in the same room & around 900 throughout my home. Handles all 71 devices at max connections with ease. I have it paired with a CM2050v modem. The biggest improvement in my eyes is the over-network file transfer. I have a Plex server & transferring files from my PC to mycloudhome folder takes seconds now. I get speeds outside of my home within the yard anywhere from 350-500MBPS. If you want a nonstop working system that will handle everything, this is it. I don't know why they charge for protection & most others don't. My 2nd mesh system was an ASUS XT8 & it was free. I've had this system 3 months.

Incredibly Simple Setup & Outstanding Speed

The NetGear AX6000 Wifi Mesh RBK8509 series router and satellites were a bit of an investment, but so far the experience has been well worth it! We had need of a new router as we were discontinuing our cable internet and switching to optical broadband. The Orbi App instructions made the change so simple it was astounding. The performance has been outstanding, unlike my previous carrier-provided state-of-the-art model-year-2020 router. And not a blip from any of my existing Wifi electronics other than one overhead fan which was easily reconnected to the Wifi network. I like the clean design of the Orbi, and the four ethernet cable connections on each unit allows the option for a "hardwire" connection to a 6E network for electronics which do not have 6E Wifi capability. Overall I recommend this system for style, features, speed and performance, and ease of set-up.

Not A Good Choice
16 July 2022

I work in internet IT and this router is by far one of the routers I see more issues with then any other router. They are very very over priced. They charge you to support their own product and the people are out of India. Do Not Buy This Router. I have used many routers and tested many routers and this router does not even fall within my top 10 choices of router. Netgear was a good product when the WNDR models came out. But now any Netgear router is over priced and will wear out faster then many other models. Their Mesh routers are the worst on the market I promise you will also find this to be true.

So much more than I hoped for…
11 September 2022

First of all I contacted Xfinity and finally got a real live person to come and look at our old Comcast outside box and wiring. After replacing those problems we still had issues with buffering and freeze up while streaming TV. After doing research I ordered the ORBI kicking and screaming as I did not want to spend the money and still have issues. I was not hopeful as we have always kept up with technology and expected better performance. Well, I am over the moon happy with our new ORBI. Far beyond my expectations. I should have spent the $$$ sooner. I got what I paid for. Great product.

Ultimate Wifi Solution

This is simply the most powerful consumer level complete home wifi solution available. Anyone on FTTP wanting to ramp up to gigabit speeds, and get max speed in every corner of the home needs this setup. Dedicated Quad band backplane connecting each of the modules cuts through my steel reinforced concrete walls like butter. I tried two differentrr cheaper systems first.
