We live in a very long apartment and getting wifi to every corner was impossible with a single router. Mounting it in the centre resulted in poor strength at each end where the entertainment systems are. I moved the main router to one end of the apartment and set this up at the other end. It connected easily and we now have excellent reception everywhere. I wish I had bought it sooner. Quality is great and configuration is easy with the provided instructions.

Set up this device in <15 mins (do read the quick setup guide) - easy peasy. It instantly increased download/upload speeds from a glacial 1.47/1.37Mbps (i.e. too slow for reliable WFH / Zoom calls) to 24.8/4.07Mbps (i.e. seamless WFH / Zoom calls). Note: use the ethernet cable to wire the smaller box to your router, and *either* use the other ethernet cable to physically connect the larger box (with aerials) to your computer *or* don't and go wireless. Note: as per the user guide, *don't* plug the devices into an extension cord or the signal dilutes too much to be useful. This device has solved the problem of how to get fast internet out to a re-locatable and insulated 'garden office' located 20m from the main house. Recommend.

I bought this to support a Foxtel IQ box which is out of range of my wifi in an older house with brick walls. The speed was <5mbps even though my router runs at about 50mbps. I gave it the benefit of the doubt as we have three phase power and moved it to our country property where I had another requirement, to connect from a modem in the house to the farm shed. This is a very simple single phase power system with a heavy duty underground line to the shed. Got about 2mbps at the shed (20mbps at the farm router). The total circuit distance of cable is less than 100m and there is one RCD device at the house bpard. These things are supposed to work up to 300m. They do not. Fixes the hard problems
26 October 2022

Wife's grandpa built the house, and decided if 1 nail does the job, 20 will do better. He basically built a faraday cage. Visiting the inlaws, I could get Internet if I bounced off outside the house. They constantly complained about "The internet is slow." I Bought 3 sets of these for them, told them where to locate them, and life is good. Sometimes you need to "think outside the box" - In this specific case, Mesh WiFi would not have fixed the problem. This was an effective solution.

Great but large in size
17 March 2023

The Powerline 1000 is great for extending your wifi range. Have used to get wifi in the garage and studio 15m away from the house. The only negative is the size of the plugs. Both are so large that they do not allow for another outlet in a double powerpoint to be used making it challenging when having limited options.

Might work for some, not for me.
17 February 2022

The components are solidly built. The initial install was simple. However, due to whatever complications within my home wiring system, the ethernet connection was poor everywhere. I had a look into the interface to see what might be changed to enhance the connection. Didn't see that changing anything would make a difference so left it as is. Reinstalled in various locations and the wifi connection just went non-existent. Could not log back in to interface. Reset, tinkered, tried for a couple of hours...and then gave up. Was able to return for store credit as unit may have been faulty.

PLUG AND GO
9 May 2021

With so many options for WIFI extension available, it was hard to know what to buy or what would provide enough power and coverage across our property. I purchased the Netgear Powerline 1000 WIFI bundle with a fingers crossed approach and was literally surprised by the plug and go ease of installation and how seamlessly it integrated with the existing Telstra network, it now beams an uninterrupted WIFI supply from house to outdoor office and granny flat. I definitely recommend this product.

Quality product, works great
3 December 2022

Couldn't connect to the router directly so I connected it to the LAN switch in other room. Power extender then went into the room closest to the back yard. Easy connection and now the whole house is covered with strong WiFi signal and excellent speed. Choice of dual WiFi bands (2.4 and 5.0 GHz) connection is nice. Very happy with the product. Would recommend it .

Worked a Treat
2 August 2017

This product solved a wifi dead spot in my basement. It worked exactly as described straight out of the box. I'll add that it was in a new house with modern wiring which probably made it all easier. I wanted the wifi to hook into a chromecast for my home theatre and for that it works beautifully. Wifi to devices is also fast I was surprised by some of the reviews that said it didn't work. Maybe that was a faulty product or bad wiring. Have used a similar wifi extended before and although not as good as this, all my netgear stuff seems to work well. Price was a premium to others and I paid that because of the brand and follow up. I suppose it's a cheap alternative to running new cables.

works well on 3 phase individual power runs
14 September 2022

wasnt sure if it would work on individual 3phase power runs. house is 3phase 30m run in. shed is 3 phase 60m run in both to the meterbox at front of the yard. speed test has shown 58mb per sec on wifi. super easy install and setup.
