Did a ton of research to find a replacement for our trusty but out-of-date Apple Airport, which was chosen at the time based upon the fact that it's what Best Buy itself was using in-store. I was dismayed by the numerous bad reviews shared by virtually every router brand. I eventually just took a chance and went with the Netgear AX4, based upon its number of good reviews at Best Buy, and hoped I would be one of the lucky ones. AC 1750 stopped working in my RV Barn. Stopped giving an IP Address, Tech said yellow WAN port stopped functioning. Purchased AX 1800 to replace. Do not like the App or all the “ New safety Features”. After hours of attempts to get 1800 to mess with all my other Netgear equipment I do not have reliable WiFi signal in house. Assuming “new safety features” are the reason for ALL devices losing WiFi signal every 45 seconds even though signal strength indicator shows full signal. Considering hiring outside Tech to come to house to see if we can get AX 1800 to provide reliable service but I will have to miss a half or a full day work in order to have functioning WiFi with Net gear equipment. I had to drive to my office on Saturday in order to respond to this review request.

I purchased the Netgear AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 router (RAX10) because my old Spectrum router was slow and had horrible coverage. My security cameras were constantly losing signal and needed to be reset at least three times a week! It kinda defeats the purpose of a security system if it is constantly going out. The AX1800 was easy to install and get set up, the NIGHTHAWK app is awesome! It allows you to test your speed, see who is connected to your network, pause/block connections as well as allowing you to have your own guest WiFi network, set up smart parental controls, and check your network traffic! The additional Armor/ Bitdefender security keeps all of my family’s important info private and secure. Like it should be! Having this much peace of mind at such little cost ... I picked up this router on a deal shopping. Best deal I could find for a super fast great router. So easy to connect. I called customer service to help install because I did not have my own modem yet. They walked me quickly through the connection process to the cable companies combo modem/router and setup of my new NETGEAR AX-4 STREAM RAX1800 WIFI 6 Router (RAX10). Customer service knows exactly step by step how to set it up. They were patient and kind and best of all fast. After the setup was competed I checked my speeds and they had increased over 170 mbps that I was getting. My connections are quick and now no buffering. All my devices connect quickly now with no issues. I purchased a NETGEAR Modem also so after I called the cable company and I gave them the MAC ... MoreI picked up this router on a deal shopping. When we learned that we could not create guest access using their router, I promptly returned it and purchased a smaller, mesh router. It was terrible. Settings were very limited. Only one ethernet port. Range was dubious and it dropped the signal. So, back it went and I just spent a little more money and got the Netgear. Had it installed in just a short time, with everything set as we needed and wanted, including guest access. All speed test numbers went up. Just brilliant. Only downside is it comes with add-on services, like a free trial of a security package, that they push hard for you to subscribe to. Otherwise, love it. ... MoreNetgear never disappoints. My alarm system and smart thermostat kept dropping. The cable guy would tell me to get a mesh system to solve the issue. After the last episode, I decided to follow their advice. I didn't know what to get so I spent quite a bit of time looking at different brands and reviews. The Orbi by Netgear was consistently given high marks. It wasn't something that I wanted to tackle on my own so I contacted a computer technician who came and installed it for me. It has been wonderful. My speeds and stability have never been better. No more droppage of alarm, tv or thermostat. The cost was a little higher than I would have liked but I wanted the issues to be solved and didn't want my speeds to be compromised. My biggest regret is not doing it sooner.
My last router was over a decade old when fios first came out was when we got it. Unbeknownst to me they are at like wifi6 or wifi7 now somewhere in there i sent with wifi6 because i didn’t need anything insane but ended up with a fantastic router even using multiple devices and it doesn't skip a beat! Well worth every penny high grade electronics would work great on this as well the app made setup very simple as well as it brought me through the entire process from start to finish. I was able to set guest Wifi outside of my personal normal wifi with its own passwords for that and well just super happy with it in every way they built a winner in my opinion. This replaced our older Netgear N600 dual band router which was yielding 25-30mbps maximum on wireless. 5G was less than half of 2.4G speed. The setup went smooth and the speed I gained after testing was outstanding. The 5G was even better than the 2.4G after further testing. We are getting 240mbps with the laptop near the router on 5G. We get 160 mbps two rooms away from router with one wall being stone on 5G. Our old router could maybe get 20-30mbps on a good day. 5G was even less. Our current ISP plan is 200mbps. The big number on the box was NOT the needed model number- that would be too easy (hopefully the prominent number on the box is useful to someone in the field, somewhere). Found the needed model on the bottom of the unit, in the tiniest font of all, and that in medium-contrast lettering. Brought up install instructions-- in German. Looked for English, don't think I found them. Resorted to the app I didn't want, and finally got unit working, after a number of hours. Stuck a label on the bottom of the unit to remind myself to absolutely not replace it with another Netgear. Unsubscribed from most of their spam. When I discovered I would have to download an app I had nightmare visions of an entire afternoon spent struggling to get the app to work, repeated calls to surly tech support, and endless mind-numbing technical details. Instead, the hardest part of the installation process was crawling under the desk to disconnect the old router. The app worked smoothly and stepped me through the installation without a hitch. There was never a point where the app view wS different from my experience (a common experience for me). It was complete in under an hour, including relocating the router to the top of ...
