OXO Good Grips Kitchen & Herb Scissors

Fantastic! I had a single pair of these, but they kept disappearing, so I bought 3 more pairs and I keep one hidden so only I know where it is. They are very sharp, and even though 3 inches doesn't sound like much, once you realize that's just the blade length from the screw, you will realize it's entirely sufficient. I especially love the herb-stripping at the top. It's so convenient to have a single tool to both cut and snip and strip!

Exceeded my expectations

This pair of kitchen scissors is a must-have tool for cooks. I used it to cut fish - superb! It's very easy to clean because it comes apart which also means one can sharpen each blade easily. I haven't tried using the herb stripping feature yet but it looks like it should work well. It cuts everything nicely. Definitely recommend. And so much better than the old pair which has now been consigned to the recycling bin.

Fell apart

I bought these for the Good Grips brand - couldn't try them as they were in a locked cupboard in store and there was nothing obvious to say they came apart (and it's not mentioned on the web description). It'd be a good idea if they only pcame apart when you wanted to clean, but mine came apart when I wanted to cut flower stems. Without a locking mechanism they separate all too easily and one half fell in the floor rather too near my foot. I just assumed they were faulty and was amazed to be told it was a feature! I clean my scissors in the dishwasher which works fine without separating them into two blades.

First rate kitchen scissors

We had a pair of supermarket branded scissors which were beginning to cause more irritation than satisfaction. I saw these GoodGrips in our local John Lewis and Partners store and decided to give them a go. One of the things that my wife had said would be useful to have would be a herb-stripper for our home grown thyme and rosemary. Lo and behold, these scissors have two different sized notches just for that purpose. These work really well on all but the thinnest twigs which just pull straight through the notch. That is a very minor issue. Otherwise this ambidextrous design (we have a right hander and a left hander sharing them!) is comfortable to use and very sharp. Good, useful kitchen scissors

Sturdy scissors that seem able to tackle everything required in the kitchen so far. They're able to strip herbs from their stalks but I haven't tried that yet. They come apart for washing really easily, which I found a bit odd at first, but now think is a great idea as you can be sure you've got them clean. And they clip back together easily too. My only criticism is that are big and quite bulky. I have small hands but a smaller size wasn't available. Sill fine to use though. Early days but they certainly look built to last!

Kitchen and herb scissors

OXO was kind enough to replace my older pair. I was advised not to sharpen the blades. Instead a new pair arrived in the mail. I have osteoarthritis in my hands and the OXO products have been a life saver! The vegetable peeler is also handy!

Really useful

This is my second pair of these kitchen scissors. The first pair are still working so well but I gave them to my daughter because the ones she was using were rubbish. My new pair hasn't disappointed. I use them everyday, they are better than knives to cut meat etc. they come apart for easy cleaning which is brilliant.

Really useful, best ones I've tried

Best kitchen scissors ever. Super sharp, cuts through everything. They seemed expensive to me at first, but have realised it's false economy to buy cheaper ones because they're too blunt. These come apart for easy cleaning too.

So far so good

Really needed some good kitchen scissors and these are great. Have tried them on meat and poultry and cutting fresh herbs, handled some woody stems well. I particularly like the feature that you can take the blades apart for cleaning. I don't like to put kitchen knives or scissors in the dishwasher as it blunts them, so its good to be confident they are thoroughly cleaned. And even with this feature they are secure in use. No sign they are getting less effective with use, still great results and they have been used often. Everyone else in the house is banned from using them for non-culinary purposes as I hope they will last forever!

Very sharp and useful in the kitchen

The scissors have a comfortable grip, sharp blades and a very smooth closing action. The ones I purchased a couple of years ago are still in As new condition as the most recent purchase. They come apart for easy cleaning yet the two pieces lock together securely. They are used daily and cut through a variety of items including meat, cardboard, paper, flowers, herbs and various vegetables. They are handy for when you dont want to get out the knives and chopping board to save on washing up! The herb stripper is very useful. I would highly recommend these scissors and have given them as gifts to various family and friends.
