This paste is great. It serves 6 and you can use as much as you want and stote it opened in the fridge. It even has serving suggestions on the back. Just fry some onion, ginger and garlic. Then you add as much of the paste you like. Perfect for my family as the children doesnt like it too hot, and this is a mild paste. You can also get it in Medium and Hot. I had it with chicken, and it was delish. You can also recycle the tub and lid. Will buy this again.

Made buttersqaush curry with this Rogan Josh Paste from the recipe which is on the back of the jar. Was really impressed with the flavours. The spices really pack a punch but there is a lovely sweetness to it without being over sweet. Labelled as medium heat which was lovely and warming and not too hot. Takes much longer to cook than it says if you don't cut the butternut squash small enough like I did! Great that is it Vegan and Gluten free and the taste is so good I think all would like it. Loved it!

Not as handy as the sauces, but this paste has a better depth of flavour but not quite spicy enough. I followed the recipe on the back adding onions, garlic, tomatoes, purée, water, chicken and prawns. It was too tomatoey so I recommend using no tomato purée, plus it was very thick using half a jar. I recommend using 1/3 and put a bit more water in to loosen or yoghurt.
I was a little concerned that being mild, this paste may be lacking in flavour. However, I need not have worried. This paste has a blend of spices, which make a great tasting, authentic curry. I really liked the squeezy tube and found it so easy to use. I would definitely recommend this product to others.
This paste is beyond gorgeous. Makes a sensational Brinjal Bhaji. I fry onions in turmeric, coriander powder fresh minced garlic and Jalfrezi paste. Then add fresh chopped tomatoes, Geeta's mango chutney and oven roasted brinjal, and cook gently till the tomatoes soften and the brinjal infuses with the aromatic sauce. Also makes incredible Bombay potato. So versatile!
This was given as a sub for the absolutely delicious Pataks Madras paste that I utterly adore and I usually enjoy the taste of jalfrezi but this was a very poor sub, never known any jalfrezi that has fennel in it, I loathe that taste, anything licorice or aniseed and trying it last night, I almost spat my food out as the aftertaste was pure fennel with a sweetness that almost had me gagging. Never again, chucked the rest and went to the store the next day and got my beloved madras paste.
I used half a jar to make a very good family Lamb Curry. The flavour is very authentic and I like the fact there are no artificial additives. Still need quite a few ingredients added, but it's worth it for the final result. Would have given it 5 stars but dislike having half opened jars hanging around.
It has quite a full flavour for a mild spice but that said, it is very versatile. I like the tube design but prefer glass over plastic so am unsure about a repeat purchase. However, it is more than just a curry maker = it's great as a marinade or 'rub' (meat, vege's etc) and adds a depth of flavour to dips / dressings that are on the bland side (make your own by mixingthis with yoghurt). It even worked well on fries in the air fryer.
Not just my finding this paste, but that no one else has reviewed it. I have had the great fortune of using this paste for the past 30 plus years. Try this recipe: - 500g Beef Mince, 1 diced onion, 1/2 jar Patak Mild Curry Paste (check on jar) 1 can chopped tomatoes, 1 can processed peas. Fry diced onion in a little oil until soft or slightly caramelised. Stir in the paste and cook for a few minutes. Add beef mince, stir until browned. Pour in chopped tomatoes with the strained and rinsed peas. Cover and simmer gently for 25/30 mins. I hope you like this.........we do. I have actually, sometimes, added bit-size diced potato to this recipe. Very, very nice......smiley face.
