Pureology Hydrate Soft Softening Treatment 200 ml

My hair is thin, type 3b/3c curl type (natural for 2 years) and color-treated. I have allergies and sensitive to scents/strong fragrance. When I first smelled this deep conditioner treatment, I knew that it was going to be an experience and it didn't disappoint! The smell didn't bother me nor did it leave a strong after smell after rinsing out. I personally LOVE soft fruity scents. It smells natural, not fragrance-like. The texture of this treatment isn't watery nor is it too thick. It's right in between and a little goes a long way! I left this treatment in my way for 5 minutes, as the instructions said, and that was more than plenty for me. After rinsing, I noticed how soft, nourished, and vibrant my curls look! Before I start my review, I want to say that i have received this product in a Influenster box to review and give my honest opinion. I first want to say that I have been using this product for about 4 weeks now to get a full experience on how I feel about this softening treatment ! The scent in this product is definitely a more natural and subtle scent instead of being more focused on smelling good. I had my mother give it a try and she didn't like the scent but personally, I liked it myself as i knew being in cosmetology school, fragrance being the highest priority, is the last thing i'd want in my hair for a hair treatment. I previously used their Hydrate shampoo and conditioner line, and could clearly see the hydrating effects it had on my hair. I love how this product comes in a squeeze tube rather than a jar since I prefer keeping it in my shower. Like most hair masks, It’s a thicker consistency but you don’t need much to coat your hair. It revived some natural texture to my hair previously lost from the dry winter air. I was hesitant at first to massage into my scalp as the directions intended, but I’m pleasantly surprised. Three days after using the product as intended, my scalp isn’t as oily as it normally would be at this point. The brand claims that this product has extraordinary color protection (my hair is purple right now and that fades quickly) and it may have great color protection but me having to wash my hair more frequently kind of cancels out that aspect. I’m glad I received this complementary for my honest review but for $38 I’d go with a different product. I’m not sure I want my hair to be soft, if it leaves it with no body.

However, I was delightfully surprised. It is lightly scented and nice smelling, so those who are anxious about the scent being too overpowering needn't worry. I love the fact that the scent smelled very natural and not fake at all. I gave this product five out five stars and definitely recommend Pureology Professional Color Care Hydrate Soft, Softening Treatment to other people. There’s no denying that this is quite a softening hair mask. I’ve decreased the frequency of my trips to the hair salon over the past year (for obvious reasons) and I’ve changed from red to brown, so I’m not as concerned about trying to get my hair to hold color, but I’ve noticed no excessive color stripping while using this mask. It has a subtle sandalwood scent which doesn’t really linger. This mask is also quite rich so I can use a relatively small dollop to cover my mids and ends. Really softens!

Wow! I have very dry ends... due to coloring, blow drying and flat irons. I also have very fine hair so that means the bottom portion of my hair along with being dry, gets tangled, and the split ends just look yucky. I’ve tried every “healing” product, “repair” shampoo and conditioner, etc. I have found some split-end menders that help hide those but they don’t help with the dryness really. I’ve been using this product for a few weeks now and I definitely notice a difference! I have been using it in conjunction with the split-end mender that I am currently using ( I use a very small amount of it on my ends and then add the softening treatment on top). I cannot believe this product is true! The package was easy to open and the scent blew my mind. It was the most sensual scent making me think I was on an deserted island recieving a luxurious hair spa treatment. Hints of cedarwood, shea butter, sunflower and caramel wharf thru the hot steam of my shower. I have very long hair so I used a bit more than recommended. Left the product in about 5 minutes then rinsed. I used the hair mask immediately following coloring my hair. It was easy to rinse out and my hair felt baby soft and smoothed. Next day I can still smell the light fragrance in my hair when the wind blows. This product is a bit pricey but worth every cent! The mask did not leave my hair weighted down.
