I bought this kettle a few weeks ago and it has been amazing! The blue illuminating light is quite bright and the water looks brilliant whilst being boiled and it made my brother feel like he was in an Aquarium! The kettle boils water really fast and it is not very loud. Hence, it does not wake anyone up in the morning. It is a well built, durable product which is of excellent quality! A well made, efficient and attractive kettle. Boils very quickly and is easy to fill to any desired level. Stable on its base and not too noisy. Previously had the Classic glass kettle, but the exposed glass rim broke after accidental knock, a design fault. Present kettle has much better protection for the glass, and the button lid opening mechanism is again an improvement-the Classic lid had to be pulled out, difficult for anyone with weak hands.

A watched pot never boils. Ha...That will teach you to be a pot! But, a glass kettle with blue ring underlighting (like a custom car) is oddly worth watching, and the water WILL boil :-) . I'm really glad I chose this over a dispenser-type water heating appliance. Using filtered water (to reduce limescale a bit) at room temperature, means it has reliably reached a fast boil (there is a science aspect to this effect) in 45 to 50 seconds for the helpfully-indicated 1-Cup amount. 3KW is usefully potent. Auto switch-off is after 10 to 15 seconds of boiling, but time - and money - can be saved by manually switching off. Excellent kettle. I like it so much, it will probably be discontinued :-(

I had wanted a glass kettle for a while and this one scored highly with Which? Magazine which made choosing easier. It hasn't disappointed at all. Rapid boil and one cup marker are really useful. The glass body makes it far less likely that you boil more water than you need. Plus I just love its looks. The design is sleek and modern, the blue lights are really pretty and actually seeing the lighted water coming to the boil is a novelty - a bit mesmerising even! I shopped around and the best price I found was at Dunelm.

That lasted less than a month, it was poor design and i had to look inside the kettle to see how much water was in it. IT HAD TO GO!.I got this kettle from AO. It is far better than that mettle contraption. This Kettle does have it's faults. It is noisier than the metal one and that old beloved glass kettle. It is quick boil and I am pleased to see the amount of water and in the half light of evening I am pleased that a blue light at the base of the glass is a bonus, but it is not as bright as the old glass kettle. Aesthetically it is nice, it has a cute blue LED light at the bottom however It definitely doesn’t not light up as it’s shown on the photo. It also gives you the one cup option which is very handy and it boils quickly with minimal noise. The only bad thing I would say is that it scaled up after the second use which was quite shocking. I don’t know if this is what normally happens with every other kettle ( and I highly doubt it) but I saw scales forming and flying up in the water as it boiled. It is a glass kettle so you see everything that is going on inside. Another thing is that it leaves water rings around the kettle and I found that the best way to avoid that, is to ensure you empty out any extra water left over.
I liked this kettle so much I bought another for my new home!It's very quick and it's fairly quiet. You can boil just enough for a mug or up to 1.7 litres for that pot of pasta or stock you want to get started.It looks stylish. The blue light makes it easy to see if the kettle is on which is handy if you switch off your appliances at the wall at night.I find the glass slows down the build up of scale but it also makes it easy to see if it is building up if you live in a hard water area. And you can see if there is loose scale in the water so can swill it out and refill before you switch on rather than finding it in your cup - or your mouth, yuk ! - after you've made your hot drink.
I got this kettle brand new but without the original box for just 17! Considering even a bargain basement kettle is now ~13 or more (compared to the 5 my previous kettle cost, thanks tories!) I thought I'd get something a bit nice, as well as 3Kw quick. I'm very very happy with it. Quick boiling, sturdy, good capacity. Being glass it's a little heavy and, although that's no problem for myself, those with less strength may prefer a lighter basic plastic kettle.

This kettle is one of the heaviest not only that Russell Hobbs make but all the rest. So disappointed. Nothing stated anywhere that the weight is in the bottom of the kettle. Why is the element so heavy in this kettle. It is quieter than my previous one. Looks pretty when there is no condensation all over it. I reckon that the push button lid opener will be the first thing to go wrong as it is so flimsy. Tea tasted lovely. It's too expensive. Wish I'd had just bought a replacement of my old Russell Hobbs kettle instead of trying to upgrade.
