Easy to use and recharge first time, no time for reading through manuals. No problem common sense enough to use this product. Baby Boomer fell in love with Ryobi!! LONG old fashioned warranty just like in the old days.

This new design is going backwards compared to the previous design 5Ah battery (the one with rubber protection). This 36v is NOT backward compatible on my not-so-old self-propelled mower (2019, RLM36B50HP) — the battery cover would not close. And, the only other option to buy extra battery for my mower is to buy the 2Ah battery (too small). The original reason I buy Ryobi tools is that they maintain backward compatible, and therefore I can keep these tools for a longer time without needing to upgrade. But their recent 36v batteries design would force the consumers to upgrade sooner than later — not so good. This new 36v battery compared to the previous 36v, 5.0Ah battery design:Pros:- a tad lighter (but also with smaller capacity)Cons:- Smaller capacity than ... Highly likely to break when dropped on the floor. In comparison, my old 36v have rubber bumpers around them and they didn’t cracked despite of accidental drops.- Would not fit into my 2019 mower. The Battery cover would not close (RLM36B50HP). The only other alternative available is 2AH, which is too small. The customer is left with a tool that has no battery support sooner than later (actually now no where to buy the original 36v 5AH battery)- Limited handling using a single hand. Can be carried using a single hand on one end only. In comparison to the older version where it can be confidently carried single handedly on either ends — because of there are notches for finger at “both ends”.What were they thinking? I hope Ryobi maintains backward compatibility modeling seriously. Otherwise, there are lots of choices these days to make a switch.

I’ve got 2 36v batteries and have had no issue what so ever. But having said that, my batteries says hi tech on the side of the batteries. So not sure if same as this or different. Either way I cannot fault mine atm and they get used quite a lot.

Dear Bunnings, Ryobi have deleted the 5 amp 36 Volt battery, that fits my Ryobi mower, purchased new in 2017 or 18. I am "not happy Jane", I had to buy the 4 Amp 36 Volt Battery instead, and although it powers the mower, I can not close the mower hood that houses the Battery. Not good enough Ryobi. I tried another Ryobi 7 Amp 36 Volt Battery, but the battery pins wont fit my mower or the Ryobi battery Charger. So I had to return the Battery to Bunnings, Staff at Bunnings told me the 7 Amp 36 Volt would fit. but It did not fit, the 4 Amp 36 Volt battery is the only one with the same mating battery pins. All of my Lawn care Power Tools are Ryobi 36 Volt Tools. I am not Happy.
I bought this almost 2 years ago. It starts not to charge and shows a default light on the charger.I lost my receipt, Bunning rejected my warranty.
The 36 volt batteries - after less than 12 months will not recharge. I have been through a few of these batteries. Should all be recalled as not fit for purpose.
I have purchased the cordless mower and liner trimmer which I love. Lots of power in the garden from both HOWEVER I have had to return both batteries which are in sleep mode and won’t recharge. This seems to be a common problem from what I have read. Over $200 is a big investment on a single battery and I will be pushing for a replacement even after the warranty expires if it happens again
Used for 36V 46cm mower. Overheats in the middle of usage. After a couple of years I don't even get 10 minutes on short grass. I use this after my 6Ah dies so it shouldn't have seen full discharge any time I used it.Just now I mowed for a grand total of 3 passes, 2 minutes tops? and lost half charge.
For those with batteries in sleep mode. Attach the charger and quickly remove it before it blinks then try again. It worked for my battery unable to charge I have no problems other than this recent sleep problem.
Shocking battery life. Waste of time and money. I do not recommend. Only recommend to the people you hate so that they can waste their time and money
