This thing is not small when rolled-up, and not light, so don't plan for it to be your backpacking pad. But it is verrrrry comfortable. If you're mostly car camping or have a second pad for backpacking then I highly recommend it. Both sides of the pad inflate making the total thickness better than any pad I've had before. And Sea to Summit's inflating bag makes it easy to inflate--about 1.5 bags-full for each side.The only reason for four stars instead of five is the rolled-up size and total weight.

Used this for the first time on a beach-camping weekend. It is extremely easy to inflate using the airbag that is super-conveniently incorporated into the stuff sack. Sleeping on my back, I was completely off the ground. A bit of contact on hips and shoulders when side-sleeping, but better than my previous pad and still quite comfortable. The temperatures were fairly warm (around 60F), so not a challenging test, but I did not feel any loss of body heat through the ground. It deflates quickly and is easily packed back into its sack. Light and small. I am very happy with it.

Thrilled with my new Comfort Plus, insulated Sleeping Mat. Bought mine to replace my old Thermarest 3/4 ultra light self inflating mat bought back in the 1980s. This is lighter, gives equally good insulation as well as being even more comfortable. Bought for both hiking and my "flamping" expeditions, as in fly, in fly out and car hire camping. Hope it serves me as long and wel as my old Thermarest, which was plain worn outl. Will be tested at my forthcoming trip to the Red Centre!

Whoowho. My new Sea To Summit Comfort Plus insulated mat arrived, all carefully packaged by Snowy's less than an hour ago. So easy to inflate with the bag system. Very comfy for side and tummy sleeping. Would have loved a rectangular one for room for my arms outside the sleeping bag, but weight and pack size determined my choice. Very comfortable and fit for purpose. Seems a high quality product. Will test it in the field, camping in Central Australia in August. About the same pack size as my old 1980s Thermarest Ultraliite 3/4, but considerably lighter and longer. I now want an ultralight one for extended hikes in good weather, as well as my fly in fly out camping that this will be part of. Yes every gram truly does count! Loving it so far. I sleep warm and on my side and it did very well in terms of comfort and temp as it was a mild night. I used it again in November 2022 and March of 2023 where the nighttime temps were in the high 20s and was very warm. I am 6’1” 155lbs and chose the larger size and would do it again in a heartbeat. Love how it is compartmentalized to dial in the right level of comfort, very packable, and easy to inflate with the stuff sack/pump sack combo. I could have taken the 'regular' but it is unfortunately not available in wide (25in); only 21in.BADS:This is also the reason why I'm taking a star off: The pad is unnecessarily long, like way too long (about 1/2 ft longer than other 'long' pads) which can be nice for particularly tall guys, but in my case added a little more bulk than I wish to carry. It is regrettable tat Sea-to-summit doesn't have a reg+wide for that one.Finally, S2S made the choice to keep the stuff sac very small to keep the pad rolled tight. But this make it actually hard to stuff it back inside, when packing up. (And I suspect that it may be bad for the pad to stay tightly rolled while in storage, and would recommend taking it out at home)
My wife and I purchased these sleeping pads in 2015 to use for backpacking, but we have found them so comfortable that we use them for car camping too. They are easy/quick to inflate and deflate, roll up easy and take up little room in a car or backpack. As for comfort, I've read reviews saying they aren't so hot for side sleepers. My wife and I both find them very comfortable--but I'd note that our sleep mattress at home is rated extra firm. When the temps dip down into the 30s or below, we also use a closed cell foam pad under the Sea-to-Summit pads. As I noted, these are now the pads we use whenever we camp, and we've had no failures over the 7 years we've used them. We think they are great and will keep on enjoying their comfort and ease of use.

If you're considering this mat then you're probably more worried about comfort than weight. In my case the Sea to Summit Comfort Plus was an improvement in both areas. It's lighter than the sleep system I've been using since I was in the Boy Scouts 20 years ago, and probably 20x more comfortable too! The stuff sack that doubles as an inflation device is genius. Would definitely buy again.
We're in Tasmania, so i wasn't going to bother purchasing one that's not insulated. I used this for the first time over the weekend on a short overnight hike. It is very easy to inflate/deflate. Packs up easily into the bag. Some have mentioned the larger size of it when packed, but im used to a larger yoga style foam mat...so, for me, this mat is tiny. It was very comfortable. When in my sleeping bag, i put my leg off mat to see if i could feel difference/test insulation. All this proved is how good this mat is and that i should start saving for a good quality down sleeping bag. Despite the sleeping bag, i slept well. Definitely recommend the mat.
