The Seiko 5 Sport series was first released in 1963, its creation aimed at providing stylish yet affordable automatic watches to the younger generation of the 60s. 50 years later, the Seiko 5 Sport has been reborn, each model showcasing the key traits of the original models as well as new, updated features. The five core features of the Seiko 5 Sport: The mechanism within the watch is 4R36 automatic movement which is built in house and the calibre is comprised of 24 Jewels and a 41 hour power reserve. The placement of the crown is signature to the Seiko 5 Sport collection, positioned at 4 o'clock. Each Seiko 5 Sport displays a day and date window at the 3 o'clock position on the dial. The Seiko 5 Sports collection are known for significant water resistance up to 100 metres. The collection also comes with added durability of the case and strap of each model. Individual Model Specifications: To prevent the watch displaying elapsed time, this model comes with a unidirectional bezel, its safe operation prevents accidental rotation. Unlike many automatic watches, this model comes with a Seconds-Stop function which allows the wearer to completely halt the movement within the watch. The dial of this model is protected by Hardlex Crystal. This model is comprised of black silicone strap with a matching black bezel and dial. The dial is easy to read with luminous indexes and hands.

I am more than delighted with this excellent watch. The stunningly clear face with sharp contrast between blacks (face, band, bezel) and silver/white of the case and minute marker make it a tuxedo watch! Initially concerned about its bulk compared with my Longines, I am now very pleased with the style and its statement presence on my wrist. The bevelled glass is a welcome surprise and catches the light, as does the stainless steel bezel grip. The luminous hands mean I can check the time if I wake before daybreak. Looking forward to years of Seiko reliability. [Took photo but it did not seem to load]
I ordered a Seiko 5 Sports. The service was excellent, with my watch arriving the day after I ordered it and was exactly as described. When I emailed a query regarding the watch I had a satisfactory reply the same day. Would recommend.

I may be mistaken but it looks like it gained 5 minutes during this interim period. For the following two weeks I will monitor it closely.Quality wise, I rather like the built and am glad that I made the buy. I would personally prefer a more bulky strap and wish Seiko Boutique would stock a range of Seiko straps, any chance in that?Thank youFerdi
