Avoid this safe. It seems like a good deal but it isn't. The touch pad is widely known for having issues. These are really heavy and hard to return when you get a dead one like I did. In fact the safe I was sent had clearly been used before being sent to me. Not happy. Avoid this one.

ordered twice and both times the safes came extremely damaged. Dents all over, corners crushed and the metao rusting. Packaging is just a box with foam on bottom and foam on the front door side. The top and other 3 sides and directly touching the cardboard. What a hassel delaing with the returns twice.

Avoid this safe. It seems like a good deal but it isn't. The touch pad is widely known for having issues. These are really heavy and hard to return when you get a dead one like I did. In fact the safe I was sent had clearly been used before being sent to me. Not happy. Avoid this one.

This is a nice sized safe with some decent features for the money. I don't get how it is waterproof as there is no apparent seal but that is the least of my reasons for getting a safe. The size is nice but I wish it came with a few more shelves so one could organize it a bit better rather than having a huge stack of documents. The alarm features is nice as I think given the choice most thieves would just take the safe rather than taking the time to break into it.I do have a few pet peeves with this safe. First the touch screen sometimes requires a couple hard pushes to get it to come on, I would much rather have regular push buttons than a touch screen. Third, for some reason this safe hates Duracell (regular coppertop) batteries. I went through numerous new Duracell batteries and even had Sentry send me a new battery compartment and couldn't get power. I was about to contact Sentry again when I decided to try some Energizer batteries and voila, I had power.
Bought this safe to put in the wardrobe for valuables and family papers. Does what it says on the box, and was easy to set up. Instructions were clear. It is pretty heavy when empty, so a good safety measure in itself. Noted on other reviews I read before purchase, it is not water proof if bolted down, so be aware of this. You have to drill through the case from underneath if you chose to do so. It does have an alarm if moved/hit so I've not bolted it. It is still fire proof though (allegedly). Happy with the space inside. NB: It does recommend changing a desiccant bag every 6 months and to open it regularly to air it out. As it is sealed, moisture can build up and damage delicate items. Takes 4x AAA
This safe probably works well for fire and water, without any modifications to the safe itself. But if you bolt this bad boy to the floor, thru the case into concrete or wood, all that resistance and protection is gone, gone, gone... Anything that needs to be kept dry, put in alternative watertight containers in the safe... In case of a fire, bolted to a wood floor, good luck... If you never have a fire or flood, it's all good... I have bolted mine to a concrete slab...

I looked online and saw how many people complained about the same issue (wish I did that before I bought it). Anyway, i was able to saw through the hinge the hinge and then I took a crowbar to take off the front panel and the saw-zaw went through that thing like butter. Took me just about 5 minutes to get that door off. What concerns me more is I emailed Sentry and they have not even had the courtesy of replying to the email. I then emailed Sams Club, which they promise a 24 hour response, which they have not done either. Kind of sad. I received this safe in this condition. the box it came in was not damaged at all so im not sure where all these scratches and dents came from. I seen other reviews with pics like mine, but took a chance anyway. Now i wish i wouldnt have. Not very happy about all the damage at all. Have not set codes yet so i dont even know how or if its gonna work correctly.
I have had problems wit opening this safe since the day I received it.The keypad is extremely quirky and will not light up when it is touched. Periodically I can get it open if I keep touching the keypad for several minutes. Customer service just helped me get it open after it finally wouldn't open at all. It involved disassembling the electronic keypad and resetting it
Installed brand new batteries twice the day this safe was purchased. Screen lights up intermittently. I had the screen working long enough to program my own code, but after that the screen would not light up again. I am not comfortable locking the safe as I am uncertain that I will be able to get it back open due to the faulty touch screen. There is no other way to open the safe, there is not an override key, etc. Very heavy item to have to return to the store.
