SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense 30ml

The SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense is a great product for me. Yes, it's pricey, but it worked for my skin. I have sensitive, blemish prone skin that is finnicky. I don't have a ton of acne, but when I do, it would be at least 3 cystic ones on my chin/jawline. This product does not get rid of acne right away (there's really no miracle cure), but it helped make the spots smaller. I do notice that when I use it on my nose, I don't see as much blackheads and I have alot on my nose. I only use the product at night and only 3 times a week. It helps smooth the texture on my skin. Breakouts will still happen for me (mainly during the time of the month), but I like how my skin feels the next morning after using it the night before. The smell is more like those "medical" smells, not too bad, but there is a scent. The consistency is more of a light serum, not thick, more watery. You don't use alot only a 3 drops for the entire face. It does feel slightly sticky, but after it settles on the skin, it's not as sticky. As with any skincare, do a test patch first, especially if you're sensitive. I was lucky that it didn't burn my skin or cause any reactions after use.

Few months ago, I started to develop adult acne and I never really struggled with acnes until beginning of this year. It seemed that along with big hormonal changes (as I recently turned 30) and with wrong use of new products has irritated my skin and made break out even more. I purchased SkinCeuticals hoping that it will aid in controlling the development of Blemishes and improve skin texture and pigmentation that was developed by the acnes. So far, it's been about 2 weeks of using the product and I use it every other day during the PM, and spot treat on red acne spots on the nights where I would skip to apply on the whole face. Didn’t work for me

I desperately wanted this serum to work for me, but sadly, it didn’t work any magic. I’m a 49 YO woman who has never had much acne, but I started getting hormonal acne around my forehead, chin and jawline this year and it is devastating for my self esteem. This product burns and stings when applied. I power through anyway and it goes away. I have been using this daily for a month and my skin tends to break out every other week with no noticeable change in number or frequency of blemishes. The only difference I’ve seen is maybe that the acne heals a few days faster each breakout cycle. I can’t say that it’s from this serum though. I’ve been so desperate that I also use Naturium sulfur spot treatment on top of it to help dry up the spots. Don't Love It Like the Original Acne Product called Silymarin CF Acne Serum

I was looking forward to ordering a bottle of the original Silymarin CF Acne Serum but unfortunately it is now available as Silymarin CF Vitamin C Serum. I'm currently using a Vitamin C product from another manufacturer that I love using during the day. To spend another $100 to include Vitamin C that I already wasn't practical. I believe this product maybe helping with my blemishes but it's so soon to tell as I only used it twice. It's a little too sticky to wear during the day with my other products and it doesn't absorb well. I can see a sticky residue, which is why I only apply at night time. I hope SkinCeuticals will supply the original Silymarin CF Acne Serum without the Vitamin C in the very near future.

Faulty Product

I love the product itself, however, mine had a faulty bottle that damaged over half the product and customer service did nothing about it. I use this product as a spot treatment when needed. Due to over drying skin, I do not use it every day. Therefore, the bottle lasts a long time for me. I took this product in my cosmetics bag, inside my personal item in the overhead compartment of a plane. A flight that lasted only an hour and a half. When I arrived to my destination, the rubber dropper came apart from the glass dropper and a black gooey substance melted into the bottle. I had to throw the product away since the substance seeped into the product and the dropper was completely broken apart. Very disappointed as this is an expensive product that was ruined due to a faulty bottle. The product was kept inside the climate controlled airplane; no reason for the bottle to melt apart. I love Skinceuticals, but this is not the first time I have had to deal with their poor customer service. The first time, I let it go and continued to purchase from them. Now, it is a deal breaker. Just goes to show I should move on to newer inexpensive brands that are just as effective and actually cater to their customers.

Literally the Holy Grail.

I am so thankful for this little bottle! I have struggled with adult acne for… well, all of adulthood. This has cleared my skin completely for the first time since I was about 13. Like, my skin is beautiful now. When I forget to wear makeup, I feel ok about it. I also find that it keeps my skin plenty hydrated, and I haven’t even needed another moisturizer while using it. At one point I ran out and thought maybe the results would last a while, but I broke out again just as bad as ever. Within a couple of weeks of using this serum again, my skin again cleared up. I’m a subscriber now so I won’t have that problem in the future!

Lives up to the hype!

I'm in my late 20s and constantly struggle with my oily acne-prone skin. As a healthcare worker I wear a mask about 50 hours a week, and this has caused me to persistently have acne along my jawline and chin. I also have PIH residually from my acne as well. I had heard wonderful things about this serum along with their Vit C serum through influencers and dermatologists that I follow on social media. I did not find it too drying on my skin, but I could see how those with sensitive skin may only want to wear it once a day or every other day to avoid irritation. I put it on twice a day for 2 weeks, and by the end of those two weeks (I actually think day 11 or 12) I did not have any active pimples on my face and my PIH was fading even faster! I since have backed it off to once a day -only at night (or every other night if I am perfectly clear). It has drastically reduced the amount of adult acne I have and the scarring it would leave afterwards. I will continue to repurchase and keep in my skincare routine.

Not quite the same as it’s more expensive counterpart

I was looking for a less expensive replacement for the Silymarin product. This almost does that. I’m using this now everyday, and the Silymarin only twice a week. But together they do seem to work well. It takes a while to get used to the watery texture of this product, and have ruined several tops because this product seems to drip everywhere except where you want it, so be careful, as it stains horribly. My breakouts have reduced, but make sure you use a serum or water based moisturizer after. It takes some patience, but this product belongs in your routine.

This product is wonderful! I honestly have the best skin of my life using SkinCeuticals - their products are really wonderful. Prior to the pandemic, I was seeing an esthetician monthly and she always told me that her goal was for me to be able to maintain my skin on my own. She also highly recommended SkinCeuticals products. Over time, I purchased them and developed my own regimen with her guidance. I also include some non-SkinCeuticals products in my regimen (M-61, Rhonda Allison, and Hanskin) but SkinCeuticals products are the tried and true anchor. Try them - you won't regret it! All of the products I use - both SkinCeuticals and others are on the pricier side but I have learned that you get what you pay for and some things (like your skin) are worth investing in.

The best purchase on my acne journey

I am struggling with acne for 4 years, appeared out of nowhere and doesn’t want to go away. None of the dermatologists or doctors that I visited were interested in finding the reason behind the state of my face and their only advice for me is isotretinoin treatment. Whatever you see on pictures below - those are scars, but no cysts! Amazing!In the first few days my skin was a bit dry after using it as per instructions on the bottle, but I managed to find ‘my way’ and let the skin to adapt to current skin routine and since that time, I don’t have any problem with dryness or irritation.I will repurchase until my face is clear and ‘stable’ and also I can’t wait to try more products from Skinceuticals - I believe, I will be targeting scars and redness as a next steps!
