There are a lot of things I like about this grill. Well thought out kettle, and holds low temps great. The ash removal system however is beyond awful. Ring is held on by tabs, and once they get loose, it is impossible to keep reattached. The ash basket falls off every time I use it. 30 years of Webber Grills and I never encountered this problem. Just a really bad design, and not something you should have to deal with on a $400 grill. Buy the SNS insert, but a different grill

Nice Kettle Gril well-made and very nice system.I bought the original Slow & Sear & the Cast Iron Griddle & Baking mat with the Kettle.Only complaints minus 1 star:1. Come on guys Leg Assemblies are marked made in China really.2. Leg Brace / Bottom storage shelf could be a little heavier gauge; with 4 legs it still has some Wable to it when you move it.3. SS Grate could be just a little wider, so it doesn't bounce around so much when you clean it

Being on a fixed income as I'm disabled due to a stroke, and relatively a "newbie" to the finer art of outdoor "grilling", I looked long and hard for a kettle cooker that I could do just about anything with (smoking meats, slow cooks, high n hot cooks, you name it!) and found it here! Only thing I wish I could have done was find it with the "deluxe" SNS in the package. By the time I figured it out, as it wasn't really clear on the website when I bought mine, I couldn't exchange the regular SNS basket for the deluxe basket due to time requirements SNS has on their exchange policy. The folks at SNS are always right on top of it when I've contacted them. Other than the issue with the deluxe SNS basket, I couldn't have been happier with what I've got!!! Just LOVE this set up!

There are a lot of things I like about this grill. Well thought out kettle, and holds low temps great. The ash removal system however is beyond awful. Ring is held on by tabs, and once they get loose, it is impossible to keep reattached. The ash basket falls off every time I use it. 30 years of Webber Grills and I never encountered this problem. Just a really bad design, and not something you should have to deal with on a $400 grill. Buy the SNS insert, but a different grill

Thwn I stumbled upon the wood pellet options. Finally I decided to look into the traditional charcoal grills to see if it's worth the hassle. When I started looking intobit, I discovered that the old tried and true kettle really is the most versatile option there is. And when I learned of the SNS Grills by watching Guga on Youtube, I was convinced. I've had it for about a month now and have done everything from smoking ribs to grilling Picahna. If you're new to grilling with charcoal like I am, the SNS attachment it brings will make you an expert grill Master in no time. Two zones really are better than one. Also, the fact that the vents and thermometers are all in the right place makes all the difference in achieving your desired result. The steaks turn out amazing and the slow cooks are easier. I cant wait to try the Brisket next week!

Other manufactures rivet on this vent to ensure a correct gap and spin ability.As for what's great, is that it already has a hole for a port fan, a hole for probes to past through, lid vent and thermometer on the same side, and an attached folding side table.As a mechanical engineer, with well over a decade of new product development career experience, I'm going to be a bit more critical of the design than possibly most.

I did manage to get three bolts in, but it is not possible to get the fourth one in without re-drilling the hole in the kettle. For now, Iāve opted to go with just three bolts. Again, this is a quality issue that shouldnāt happen.4. The side shelf does seem flimsy, but it is nice to have during a cook. I wouldnāt put anything heavy on it.5. The dome lid is very shallow which limits the size of what can be cooked. No turkeys. You canāt use a rib rack because the ribs it the dome and the lid wonāt sit all the way down. It would be nice if the dome was a couple inches deeper.6. Mine leaked smoke like a sieve around the lid. I had to order the foam seal to put on it.In spite of these issues, the unit does work very well. It is simple and easy to use. It also provides a variety of cooking methods that allow you to get smoke flavor in your cooks.
First use of the grill was to smoke a brisket. The side table was really sturdy and very convenient. Really liked having the probe port instead of smashing the wires when closing the lid.The one issue I have with it, is that the ash cleaning/vent system doesn't close all the way. There is a small gap when the lever is pushed to the right. I've tried to take a part and reassemble, but still can't get it to close all the way.Also I noticed it only has one handle. This is fine when I need to just wheel it around. Would have been nice to have two handles for carrying.The one
I decided to buy your kettle grill and will replace my 30+ year old Weber charcoal grill. I had previously bought the SnS Deluxe setup.I really like the features on the grill. I was a little disappointed with the quality control of some of the pieces. The probe port and smoke hole covers do not fit flush against the kettle so there is some air leaking through. The bottom 5 vent ash removal fins also do not fit flush to the kettle as well as the top vent on the cover. When I closed all the vents I think the leftover charcoal continued to burn and I also saw some smoke coming out between the lid and kettle. I have only used it once but will check the vents again the next time I use it.

Originally, there was missing finish on part of the edge of the lid, the charcoal grate is not sized correctly to sit on its supports. It's too big so it actually rests on the walls of the bowl, and takes some fiddling to get it to sit level. The slots cut in the bottom of the bowl aren't smooth and small bits of metal protrude into the kettle, so operation of the ash sweepers/vent covers only worked in one direction. When I tried to move them in the opposite direction, they would bind and stop on the rough edges. I had to bend up the vanes of the sweeper a bit to get them to move freely. The handles of the cooking grate aren't located in good alignment with the hinged portion of the grate, so the hinged portion hits the handle when I open it. This is pretty minor, but just another quality control issue. The covers for the probe port and smoke hole don't seem to fit flush to the body of the kettle, but so far doesn't seem to affect temp control, so maybe that's OK. Most recently, I saw a funny spot on the outside of the bowl, and when I touched it, a chunk of the finish fell off. It lines up with a spot weld for one of the cooking grate supports on the inside of the bowl. There's also some rust developing on the "stainless steel" rack on the bottom of the grill. I received the grill in July, keep it covered when not in use, and these new problems are showing up in mid-September after only using the grill 6 - 7 times.I was really going back and forth between this kettle and the similar priced unit from WBR, but opted for the SNS b/c of the design features and how great the Slow 'N Sear is. I also like to support smaller business when I can. And AmazingRibs gives the kettle a good review, too. The company was great about the initial concerns and sent me a replacement lid, and we discussed the other issues to my satisfaction. But this recent failure in the finish points to the a lack of quality control being performed at the factory, or just cutting corners. I went back and read reviews of the WBR grills, and these issues just don't come up. My experience has been the same as so many others regarding the quality of the product, despite how it seems to work in the short term. I just don't know how long it'll last. How about we bring manufacturing to the US, oversee the quality of the materials and manufacturing processes? Some of would pay a bit more for a higher standard. I'm hoping these are just growing pains, but those pains shouldn't equate to a lower standard product and pass the pain along to the customer.
