Several years ago I purchased the Arctis Pro Wireless, a $350 headset, and fell completely in love with it. It was everything I could ever ask for. Bluetooth compatible, battery bank which allowed for 24/7 wireless connectivity, amazing audio, and comfortability. Unfortunately, I would manage to break it and seeing how it was out of warranty, I went down a long path of trying out probably almost 10 different gaming headsets. From Logitech to HyperX to Corsair to Razer, I would end up returning these headsets after only a couple of months of use because of one annoyance or another. I didn't realize until I finally got the 7+ I was just missing everything about the Arctis. There's something about Arctis that just sets the standard for all other headsets I've ever ... I would return all other headsets because they just couldn't measure up to one aspect to it or another. The Arctis 7+ essentially ports everything from the Arctis 7 but with a 30 hour wireless battery life and usb-c charging. And honestly, for only $20 more, I think this thing is a steal. The audio is clear and high quality, I'm easily able to tell which direction sound is coming from. The headband is nice and comfortable and doesn't leave as much of an imprint as other headsets. The wireless dongle is also usb-c so its compatible with all Android phones if you want to use it on the go. The headset mic is acceptable quality, but I mostly use it as a sidetone. The software is super easy to use and I only needed some minor EQ tuning to get the audio to EXACTLY how I like it. I am so glad to be back in Arctis family and I don't think I'll be changing headsets anytime soon.

The mic sounds amazing and clear, according to my teammates in discord; they even said it sounded better than a Razer Nari headset I had a while back, which was an improvement.

I can sum this review up in one sentence: I've owned these headphones before, left for another brand, and I still regret not staying with them the whole time.I've tried every brand and almost every major gaming headset model in production at Best Buy and other online retailers: Logitech (poor connection quality, poor materials, uncomfortable headbands), Corsair (Logitech and Corsair wireless signals conflict, can't have a Logitech mouse and Corsair headset), Razer (poor quality overall, mic sounds like a wind tunnel in an utterly silent room, breaks after a year), and even Sennheiser and Audio Technica. The only brand I can say I've come back to for a 2nd round is SteelSeries. The headphones are stellar, wired or wireless. The earcups are large and comfortable, plush but breathable. The headband sits snugly on your head without putting too much pressure on it.The retractable mic makes sessions where you aren't gaming or talking more convenient: you don't have to keep this long mic arm sticking out of the earpiece and in your field of view when you don't want it, or if you have a removable mic (looking at you Corsair) you'll lose the mic sometimes when you need it.The audio quality itself is very good, too. The "surround" features are excellent, and sound stage is clear, somewhat open for a close back headphone.I even use these to listen to music sometimes when I want a wireless solution, and am still impressed by the quality. (This is coming from an "audiophile" with high end headphones and amps specifically purchased for music.)The wireless distance for these headphones is very good, too. I can walk from my desk to my kitchen to grab a drink and still hear and talk just fine. If you have a lot of walls between you though, the wireless signal might cut out, but if you have decent line of sight, you can walk a good distance with no drop in quality or connection. The software is good, too. Only software I haven't felt was intrusive by a gaming brand. It's there when I want it, not there when I don't want to see it.Overall 9/10 for these headphones, the only reason I'm not giving it a 10/10 is because they don't make me an aimbot in Apex Legends.Give these a try and I promise you, you won't go back to other "gaming" brands again.

The sound is decent, pairing, etc is a breeze. They're very comfortable headsets as far as that goes, I can wear them for some pretty long sessions. However, this is the second headset that I've replaced; third from Steelseries overall. My last headset kept crackling as if there was interference around after about 6 months. Decided to try and return them to the store via the GSP. Was denied being able to exchange them (So what's the point of it then? Hell, I used to work at Geek Squad and we exchanged them no issue.)Decided to contact Steelseries about it and they wanted to either place a hold on my card for the full amount of the headset or have me destroy them a certain way, take / send pictures and then wait about 2 weeks for a replacement.Really dogwater ... Currently the new ones after a few months still hold up quality wise. No interference but they're having a really annoying issue with staying connected. They start unpairing themselves, won't turn on unless the reset button is hit again, etc.Honestly if you want to test your luck, get these. It's really not a bad headset when it works, but after this one dies out; I'm dropping the cash on a better set of gear. Audio-Technicas or Beyerdynamics.
This headset is probably the best one that I have ever owned, as it has the perfect mix of comfort, sound quality, microphone convenience, and aesthetics. It is probably the most comfortable headset I have ever used, with the Logitech G733 being its only real competition in that area in my opinion. The sound quality from these things is great, especially after you go through and optimize the EQ settings. I tested these side by side with the Arctis Pro Wireless headset (which is widely accepted as being one of the best gaming headsets money can buy and is more than DOUBLE the price) and surprisingly, the Arctis 7 headset sounded much MUCH better. I tested these side by side with the Arctis Pro Wireless headset (which is widely accepted as being one of the best gaming headsets money can buy and is more than DOUBLE the price) and surprisingly, the Arctis 7 headset sounded much MUCH better. There is no constant static sound present when audio being played was low or nonexistent with the Arctis 7 as there was with the Pro Wireless, and the actual sound in the Pro Wireless sounded very empty and weak. Maybe it was just the units I got, but again, the Arctis 7 sounded significantly fuller and richer than did the Pro Wireless. The microphone is sufficient for my gaming chat purposes, but it won't win any awards for clarity and doesn't hold a candle to the Corsair Virtuoso RGB's mic. And finally, it's a pretty product to look at and wear. It is very understated in its looks and matches the kind of modern vibe I have going in my gaming room, and so I much prefer that over the chunkiness or harsh angles very common in gaming headphones. The only thing I wish was better is the way in which you can tell how much battery life the headset has remaining, as currently, I believe that the only ways to check are to remove the headset and look at the power button on the headset itself as it flashes different colors depending on the charge level of the headset, or a basic battery icon with three segments can be found in the SteelSeries software. Neither of these options are optimal, but with the long battery life of over 20 hours, as long as you check the color of the button when you turn the headset on or off, there shouldn't be any issues as you will have ample warning that the headset needs to be charged before it ever becomes an issue. All in all, this product is great, and I expect to enjoy these for a long time to come.
This headset was my first wireless one. I came from the Kitty Razer Kraken wired headset and hated the cord because it constantly tangled itself, which ultimately resulted in it breaking before I had it for a whole year. (I do not recommend getting wired Razer headsets because of this reason--they do not have good cords). So, I decided to opt towards a wireless one this time around.I was a bit hesitant getting these because of the mixed reviews on Amazon considering the price, so I decided to buy them from Best Buy in order to prevent any third-party sellers that may give me a faulty headset. I've had it for a few weeks now and I must say I really do love them! However, I will list some pros and cons.Considering this is my first wireless headset, I cannot give the best review in terms of "bang for your buck", because I know this headset is kind of pricey. However, from my experience, I definitely think it was worth it for me. I get HOURS upon hours of gameplay without having to charge them, and even if they do die, you can just plug them into a power source and play while they charge. The charging port can be a bit short depending on where your PC sits, but I haven't had any trouble with it. There is also a feature on this headset that allows you to balance out your audio between CHAT (i.e. Discord) and whatever game you are playing without having to access the volume mixer. (The scroll is on the back right earpiece). I feel like this makes it super convenient to balance out audio and I use this feature all the time. There is also a mute button on the headset that is a lot easier to push than the one I had on my previous Razer headset. Also, the wireless connection is amazing. There is no delay in audio, and I can also walk around the house without losing connection (and I live in a two story!)Cons: The headset is not adjustable, but I have a rather big head and I do not feel any discomfort whatsoever. If you play for a REALLY long time, you may feel the pressure of the elastic on the top of your head, but I always adjust my headset every couple hours and I don't see it as a huge deal. Also, the mic isn't the greatest, but my friends are still able to hear and understand me loud and clear. So even if you aren't planning to invest in a separate "professional" mic, this one will do if you only really use comms casually. So yeah, I definitely would recommend this headset to anyone looking for a good wireless one! Again, I was hesitant about purchasing this for myself, but I have had an amazing experience with these headphones and I do not regret purchasing them at all.
I love SteelSeries headsets, I have the Arctis Pro for my PC/Xbox and was using the white Sony Pulse white for my PS5 (black came out RIGHT after I got the white which bummed me out). The pulse is arguably the best headset for the PS5 but after hours of gaming my ears started to hurt. The cooling memory foam of the Arctis series headsets beats regular foam padding all day. Some people complain about the build quality of Arctis headsets - most of those I determine are poor neckbeards that expect things to last 10 years. Bro - if you get three to four years out of a headset you are doing great, Otherwise, quit rage quitting and taking it out on your headsets. The quality is pretty dang good.My only complaint is on max volume there is a slight static sound - I can't notice it during gameplay but when it's silent I can def notice it. Other than that these are near perfect. Battery lasts forever and I love the much needed USB-C update. The perfect headset would be the Arctis Pro with USB-C with an all Aluminum frame. The retractable boom mic is perfect. You can easily slide it in/out and it doesn't get in the way - it glows red when it's muted so can easily detect when mute is on/off. The button layout is nice and it's not super cluttered. I like the volume dials instead of volume buttons, makes it much easier when gaming and worth it even when you accidently lower the volume when putting on/taking off the headsets.I think these are priced just right. I don't see the need to pay anything more for a headset, these have all the features you need when playing first person shooters including spacial surround sound and gives you the battery life you need for long gaming sessions. Anything lower than this price range you are going to get what you pay for - or what you don't pay for. With all that said, the cons aren't deal breakers or even bad enough to take a star away from a 5 Star rating but I thought i'd mention them anyways.
Ah the Arctis 7 Wireless DTS Gaming Headset by SteelSeries. I had such high hopes for this product as my set of Limited Edition Arctis wired headphones were amazing and have been going strong for almost two years now. Unfortunately these new ones did not deliver that same quality experience that has fueled my gaming sessions for the last few years, instead these have left me feeling crushed and defeated.Lets begin: The initial presentation was nice, simplistic, packaging was pretty average, nothing over the top. The headphones are essentially plug and play, the aesthetic of them is pretty nice, as you'd expect when paying $150+ for a premium headset. The band over the head is incredibly comfortable and the ear cushions don't make your ears ache, they have a nice matte black look and overall the headset is pretty aesthetically pleasing. Basically its as much as you'd expect from a premium $150+ headset. Until you realize it isn't...While the initial presentation and use of the headset was phenomenal, the sound is amazing out of the box even before doing any EQ and adjustments via the downloadable app for PC. The bass is great and the surround sound was one of my favorite features of the headset. Unfortunately, this is where the compliments end for now. While everything seemed perfectly fine and went about as good as you'd expect on the first day, throughout the following three days is when everything started to go downhill. While initially I was impressed by the quality of the headphones, this impression quickly changed when they developed a "creaking" sound, like what you'd hear when something is being forcibly rubbed against a plastic surface. My research online quickly told me that this was most likely due to the circuit board rubbing the inside of the earcup that it was housed in. While frustrating, I tried to deal with it like it was no big deal. Although it was, because this "minor inconvenience" quickly became an annoyance as this "creaking" sound was heard any time I'd remove or put on the headset, or even so much as simply adjust the position of the left ear muff. This only got worse though, as the next day I could hear what sounded like something loose in the headset, which I quickly deduced was the joint that connected the ear muff and the headband. Now I could hear the connecting joint moving anytime I took a step or even touched the headset.Further research online indicated that many users experience that same connecting joint breaking after only a few months or less, and that combined with the horror stories about the SteelSeries customer service and RMA programs, completely ruined any good impression I had about this headset. Yes the sound was exceptional, the bass was good, the headset was incredibly comfortable, it looked sharp and has all the features you could want built into a single headset..But the fact of the matter remains: If I'm paying top dollar for a "premium" gaming headset that costs almost as much as two more-than-exceptional headsets combined, than I believe that I am in the right to be expecting a headset with build quality worthy of that price tag. For a premium price, the headset is almost entirely made of plastic (aside from the metal band across the top and the internal circuitry), and that's OK I suppose. What isn't OK is it comes out of the box and can't even go for 24 hours without starting to display issues that a person should normally only expect to be observing after years of use (wear and tear), especially for the price.I also never left them sitting around, always on a headphone stand/holder when not in use and when charging.Pros:Amazing sound quality, bass is exceptional for a gaming focused headset, easy to use application and EQ.Comfortable even after long gaming sessions.Wireless works good and range is more or less accurate to what is advertised.Mic works pretty well. Is retractable and sounds pretty good, picks up background noise though.Roughly 40 ft. wireless range.24 hour battery life and it charges pretty fast.Works well with consoles.Cons:Primarily made of plastic (cheap materials)Hard to determine battery percentage, the button light tends to glitch and not show the true status of the battery's charge unless specific steps are taken when turning it on.Charging cable can easily break off inside the headset.Requires that the included transmitter is plugged into whatever device you want to connect the headset with (via usb).Build quality is average at best, but not for this price.Longevity of the product is questionable, mine had issues almost right out of the box.Perhaps by stroke of bad luck or faulty design, I was eventually forced with the decision to return them and opt for a different brand this time around. While I had good experience with SteelSeries in the past and my initial impressions were set to be a 4.5/5 or 5/5 (if I had to give them an initial rating), clearly it has not worked out that way. I really wanted to love these headphones and I enjoyed using them, but if I'm spending over $100 on a premium set of headphones I expect to receive premium quality headphones in return, not instantaneous issues, anxiety, buyers-remorse, and ultimately returning them after only three and a half to four days of use.Great while they lasted, I'll pay top dollar any day if I feel like the product will be able to last for some time, but these overall just didn't live up to the loose expectations that I had for a headset that costs this much, regardless of functionality or aesthetic.
Have had this headset for 2 years now and am replacing it with something else.Pros- Battery life is as rated- In-game positioning is goodCons- Wireless connection is spotty from any distance- Range is awful- Audio quality and microphone are middling- Build quality is not made to last- Software is a confusing mess- Low battery warning starts with 5 minutes of battery left- Only one device at a timeI'm finally getting rid of these. I've had consistent issues with audio cutting in and out rapidly (like someone holding down the space bar on a YouTube video), audio dropping and requiring a headphones/PC restart, and random shutoffs of these headphones, with the receiver literally 2.5 feet from the headphones with an unobstructed view of them. On top of this, the overall range from the receiver is maybe 15 feet through one wall, which may not sound like an issue, but is the difference between continuing to talk with friends while grabbing water from the kitchen and hearing the infuriating, consistent "no connection" beep.In terms of audio quality, the surround sound capabilities of these are good - I've never had issues being able to pinpoint where enemies are in Overwatch or COD. Overall sound quality, though, is on the low side of passable. Bass response is non-existent, and the entire sound signature has a thin layer of mud across it. The microphone's also not great; I've been told that my mic sounds worse than a Logitech G432's, a ~$50 headset. This is absolutely unacceptable for the price these go for.My last complaint is the software for these. It's a steaming garbage mess of confusion and required account creation. None of the profiles make a difference to the sound or positioning of in-game audio cues, and is generally confusing to navigate and do anything with. It does come with a nifty two-sound-source...thing in Windows which splits the game audio and voice audio (i.e., Discord) into two separate audio channels that can be controlled separately, but is otherwise not worth any of your time.Long story short- these weren't worth the ~$130 I paid back in 2020, and they're ABSOLUTELY not worth the $170 they are now. YOU WILL REGRET THESE.
tl;dr any sound that comes through this headset on pc sounds as if you we're in a empty room i.e. the sound is very condensed, when tested against a Turtle Beach headset the TB headset outperformed this headset by leaps in bounds especially in game, the SteelSeries GG software isn't meant to be user friendly and this isn't a headset (ON PC AT LEAST) that you're gonna take out of the box and get crystal clear, crisp, breath taking sound.I bought this because I needed headphones that would work with my oculus and that were wireless. I'm moving to a TWS PC set up and a good pair of wireless headphones was the last item on the list. This works great with the Oculus when you're streaming games via air link, both game chat and game sounds come through nice and sound ... I'm moving to a TWS PC set up and a good pair of wireless headphones was the last item on the list. This works great with the Oculus when you're streaming games via air link, both game chat and game sounds come through nice and sound real crisp.from here on out all comparisons will be made unbiased and judged purely out of what I was supposed to be replacing, a turtle beach headset.where this headset sorely fails is it tries to be a the headphones you can listen to music with, watch the best of the best movies with, AND play games with all in one. It can't be just a gaming headset. You open up SteelSeries GG which is the software that you use to "customize / connect" the headset to your PC and you immediately realize all the customization options mean nothing to you because to a normal human being who just wants to open the box, throw the headset on, and get good quality sound having them mess with configs like sub bass, bass, low mids, mids, mid range, upper mids, and highs just to get desired sound is gonna need a youtube video and an advil for a headache. Not to mention for a GAMING headset SPATIAL AUDIO IS TURNED OFF BY DEFAULT. This is seriously Beats By Steel Series But For Gamers.I wanted to give it a chance so without messing with any configs or presets, I jumped into a game of Hell Let Loose and believe it or don't the turtle beach headset sounded better. So since this is a music based headset I went to Spotify to see how it sounded. The TB headset performed better in Rock & Roll. Instamentals we're clearer and richer. The Arctis sounded like everything was condensed inside of the headphones due to the earcups. The Arctis did a little better in the Pop category. Vocals were richer. The TB headset outperformed the Arctis by a landslide in the Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap, AND Jazz / Orchestra. All for their own respected reasons.
