I've had one of these for about 5 years now and adore it. My parents used to have one too. It's great for cooking up big batches of sauce like pasta or curry, but wouldn't advise for cooking steaks. It definitely does heat more around the edges, where the element is, and the heat cuts in and out to maintain temperature which is why I would advise for sauces almost exclusively. I also use mine for cooking thick schnitzel (placed around the edges over the element, not in the middle of the pan), bacon, and piklets. Love this frypan and use it nearly everyday as we live in a shed and do not have cooking facilities. It's been a godsend and as I use it so much that i'ts my second one in 15 mths. It's easy to monitor the temperature and can cook small and large meals. I tried the white coated version and stopped using it after 3 times - just wasn't my thing.

Decent for the price. I got it for use at work as there's no stove top. Convenient to plug into the wall and use on the kitchen bench top. It cooks well. I just wish it would stay on constantly and not toggle on/off (hence the 4 stars) which I'm guessing is an automatic temperature sensor.But still able to do what I need it to do so would still recommend.It's also non stick. You can wash the entire equipment minus the plug in cord (ofcourse). Versatile for a range of cooking.
Big enough to cook large family meals. Easy to clean, being non stick is a bonus.Good value high quality frypan
I had one of the Sunbeam Banquet Frypans for many years and used it regularly. We moved house after a hailstorm damaged our home and it didn't move with us! So I was very happy to see Target had it in stock, ordered it on click and collect, and picked it up within hours. I used it a few hours later! It's versatile, easy to clean and cooking a roast makes the kitchen a lot less hot!
I've just unpacked my frypan and was disappointed to find the this model NO LONGER HAS AN ADJUSTABLE VENTED LID.The lid is now the same as model FP5910 - static lid handle with a small round metal vent hole in the glass lid.I have contacted Sunbeam and hopefully they will update their own website and request that Target also update their product information about this model.
Fantastic frypan, especially for a family of eight.Have bought cheaper versions but they only last a few months where the Sunbeam one goes on & on..Great product & value.
My mother bought this frypan less than 2 years ago and she is really disappointed. The temperature/thermostat cuts in an out constantly and she thought it was normal but I believe its a fault. When she rang Sunbeam 4-5 weeks ago they told her the unit was out of warranty. We still dont know if this is a feature or a fault of the unit but it is an undesirable problem if it an intentional feature. You heat food to the set temperature and then the thermostat cuts out and loses heat.
I shouted myself to a new electric frypan as my old one was getting very shabby But after 15 plus years of being used every day I thought it was time for an up grade. That was just 18 months ago Now all the teflon is lifting off. I took the pan back to where I purchased it from and they said to go to sunbeam with it as they could not do anything as the warranty is for 12 months only. This would have been my 3rd pan in nearly 50 years. very disappointed.Think I will try another brand or something.
