I have and continue to rely mainly on this product but our almost 4 month old Akita keeps puking her food up in whole bits. We feed the correct amount and found out recently her mother has a shortened esophagus and her flap is flaccid causing vomiting spells and acid reflux. The original owners told me that last week when I asked if she would get sick constantly as a puppy for them. I was wondering if there is any recommendations on diets to prevent vomiting so much and if the canned food has less acids? We do have a vet appointment scheduled for next month for a new pet check up and for a full exam.

We have been feeding my boy Jasper taste of the wild from the day we got him after researching multiple different foods, as a German Shorthaired Pointer he needed something that would support his high energy needs and growth and I do not have any complaints! I constantly get compliments on his soft and shiny fur this food is amazing and he looks stunning! I have just gotten a GSD puppy and his fur was dry from the food he was eating before but within just a week of transitioning into this food he is feeling softer and has more energy! 100% recommend this good

My two dogs would not eat it. I have a German Shepherd and a Maltese I got the wrong order and got Puppy instead of adult The Customer service is excellent at PETCO and credited me. My friend referred this dog food. My dogs for some reason don’t like good dog food. Lol is there such a thing as a dog food addict. They love real meat but we’re not interested in this food. Also really really the bag should be bigger. That’s why people are shopping elsewhere A tiny bag for a 100 pound German Shepherd is a joke

Miss Piggy was rescued from a puppy mill. The owners had abandoned all the dogs before authorities arrived. Over 40 dogs died, and only five survived. Miss Piggy was one of the five. She was only five months old, terrified, underweight and suffering from intense digestive upset. We tried other puppy food but her severe tummy upset and bleeding continued. We switched her to Taste of the Wild High Prairie Puppy food and she finally began improving and thriving. There is no question in my mind that the quality of the ingredients in this food set Miss Piggy on the path to healing. It will be our food of choice for her from now on.
We switched Jaq, our new Labradoodle, to Taste of the Wild immediately upon bringing him home after recently losing our 10 year old family dog. We also fed him Taste of the Wild. We’re a military family and will be moving to Colorado in just a few weeks. We thought the High Prairie would be a perfect blend for Jaq and we were right! It hasn’t upset his stomach once, it wasn’t a rough transition from what the breeder was feeding him, and he absolutely LOVES his feeding times! We’re also using it as his “treats” he loves it so much! Keep up the good work!! We have no plans in changing dog food anytime soon!
I bough this food for my new puppies, as others noted ingredients don't match the ingredients on the bag. Also different companies show different ingredients. My puppies like this food and do well on it , but it is full of peas and legumes in the first 5 ingredients, and where the majority of the protein comes from. Companies have found a cheaper way to add proteins while removing meat sources for a higher return in their pockets. Canola oil can go rancid quickly and does sitting in hot warehouses , but it's another cheap option. While this food is budget friendly I will still search for a better option without peas and legumes for long term health of my puppies and dogs
We just got a 8 week old Cane Corso and switched him right away to this brand of food. After much research and reviews the ingredients in this are such a better quality then most others. He not only has been loving the taste but we are loving the benefits. The excrement has been solid and has not caused any upset stomach or diarrhea. We have even enrolled in a subscription so our precious pup gets this great food each month right to the door. He is happy he will never go with out and we are happy because we are feeding him only the best. Well done Taste of the Wild!
Olive has been on Taste of the Wild since she was weaned onto puppy mush (Taste of the Wild - High Prairie Puppy Recipe and warm water) and then onto straight kibble. Her breeder highly recommended the product and feeds her three Labradoodles and all of her litter puppies Taste of the Wild. We recently transitioned her to the Taste of the Wild - High Prairie Canine formula as she celebrated her first birthday. She eagerly awaits her Taste of the Wild kibble. for both meals daily. Taste of the Wild provides her with all of the nutrition she needs to support her very active lifestyle.
I feed both my puppy and active senior High Prairie puppy formula. My senior dog had started to lose weight. He is still active, but was eating less. I noticed him enjoying his little sisters food and I asked my vet about it. She said it was a perfect solution. And it has been. Both dogs are healthy and at their ideal weight. I also love that there are a variety of flavors/formulas. I’m much more comfortable switching flavors within the same brand. It causes less digestive upset. I like to switch to a fish formula in winter to help with their coats. My dogs enjoy High Prairie and Prey Trout formula. Added bonus, I like that both the farm and feed store by our cabin and Tractor Supply by my parents place sells it. One less thing to worry about when traveling.
I fed my previous dog Taste of the Wild and she loved it and responded well to it. So when I got a new pup I purchased the Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Puppy and she loved it. As I got to about a quarter of the bag left I decided I needed to pick up more food and thought to try the Bison & Venison flavor. I did the blend with the two foods as I transitioned my pup over but she began to get diarrhea. At first I thought it was from the Bully Sticks I purchased along with the food but even after stopping the sticks she continued to have the diarrhea. A friend said that Petco will exchange the dog food so I called and sure enough they said I could bring it back and exchange it. I'm gla d they allowed that as immediately after changing her condition changed and the diarrhea stopped. I love going to my local Petco as the staff is very friendly and I find so many things for my puppers there. What I was very disappointed with is that despite getting the same brand, size but just a change in flavor this is NOT an even exchange. If you received any kind of discounts or used your Pal Rewards you will LOSE any $ savings that you gained from your original purchase. They returned it at the price that I paid and charged me for the current price. So even though they took it back I paid probably around $15 for just three days of feedings. I would understand if I went with a completely different brand or category of food but I stuck with almost the same thing. At the very least they could have deducted the Pals Rewards that I had used? I've never taken advantage of this policy until this time as I knew exactly what my previous dog would eat. But many new puppy owners will go through some trial and error with what foods their dog will tolerate. Hoping that the company will correct this policy slightly.
