Reveal a brighter and more youthful complexion with The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%. This formula offers a high concentration of Vitamin C to effectively brighten the skin tone to create a more even and lively complexion. The key ingredient in this product is Ascorbyl Glucoside, a derivative of Vitamin C that is more potent and more stable than using Ascorbic Acid directly on the face. Unlike Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbyl Glucoside is water-soluble, meaning this product has a smoother and more pleasant texture, similar to a serum, that is easy to apply to the skin and feels comfortable when in use. The topical use of Vitamin C brightens the skin to reduce the look of dull and fatigued complexions, while also delivering antioxidants that help to protect the skin from damage. The Ordinary is a brand that focuses on making clinical technology more widely accessible, honest and simple in skincare. Each product has been formulated by a dedicated team of biochemistry and chemistry specialists using only highly purified and high-quality ingredients. This product has been formulated without several known skin irritants, including alcohol, silicone, oil and gluten. It is also vegan and cruelty-free. To incorporate this product into your skincare regimen, use a few drops of the solution in the AM and PM, applying with clean fingertips all over the face.

Ascorbyl Glucoside is a water-soluble derivative of Vitamin C, of course it’s not as potent as L-Ascorbic Acid, but on the other hand it’s really comfortable to use - it’s stable, never pills or causes irritation, doesn’t make my skin oilier throughout the day. Though it doesn’t hydrate the skin either, so it’s not a multifunctional product. I’ve noticed my skin is brighter and the texture has definitely improved. Bye bye fine lines & pigmentation
4 November 2021

So I decided to give this & 1 other ordinary product a try. This one was more for my 8 yr old who has hyperpigmentation on her cheeks & sides of her eyes. At 47, most people tell me I look like I'm in my early 30's, but I have noticed some ruddiness & fine lines are getting more noticeable. To be fair I will mention I use sur.medic cleanser & moisturizer, wonder beauty black rice hydrolaunic acid toner, serum & face oil, plus ordinary niacinamide & this. We started using the ordinary products about 3 weeks ago. I have noticed the pigmentation issues have lightened on my 8 yr old & I have definitely noticed most of my fine lines are minimized if not gone. I have super sensitive skin & allergies, I only use this product in the pm (I do the same routine in the am only I sub the ascorbyl for niacinamide to reduce redness). My only complaint would be this can burn your skin. For the first week I had to mix 1 drop into my moisturizer. Now I can put 2 - 3 drops directly on my skin. My daughter is a little less sensitive than I am but she also had some discomfort the first few time but, they resolved. Would i buy it again.. probably so because it's affordable & working.. however, I may try a different formula or brand at some point to see if it improves even more.

Evens tone and brightens skin
2 February 2023

I'm on my second bottle. I bought this last year and noticed some positive changes on my skin but just thought it was the season, so when I finished the bottle, I did not repurchase. Lately I had been feeling like my skin had visible spots, was dull and had redness, and decided to purchase again. After just one application I can tell the difference in brightness, even tone, and improvement in redness. I have small scars from having acne in my 20's, also tend to have visible pores and a good amount of freckles. This helps even everything out and I almost feel like I don't need any make up. I will purchase many more and def recommend.

Excellent Vitamin C Product
24 March 2023

I bought this product a few months ago after switching from the 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder. I switched to the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% as it is an indirect Vitamin C product which allowed me to combine it with a lot of other products. I have definitely noticed my skin becoming clearer in terms of texture and become more radiant, less dull. I will continue to use this product. If you have oily or normal skin, I would recommend this product. If you have dry skin like my fiance, I would recommend the Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F. Please remember you can't use this with Niacinamide products.

It works great no doubt at all!! But....!!
27 September 2022

I am using my first ever bottle that I bought from Cult Beauty. This thing works wonders for the skin. Infact if there are any active pimples it helps shrink them, treat the spots and overall brighten the skin to a great extent. I am especially concerned about one ingredient that is Triethanolamine(Ethanolamine Compound). There are several reports that these are carcinogenic and also might be a Formaldehyde releaser. The Ordinary can you please explain the science behind? It will really help in feeling assured and I can use the product in peace!! Thanks! :)

Omg I did not expect this to be as good as it is
7 March 2023

Woah I bought this not really expecting much because of the crazy price. I had (HAD) some pretty severe acne scaring in a concentrated place on my cheek, and within a week or two it was already so much less noticable. I did worry that it would break me out because I have dry acne prone skin, but it didn't at all. I use it every morning and let it absorb using a gua sha, and then follow with moisturizer. i use it most nights as well but just in the area with the scars, not all over my face like I do in the morning. Gives such a nice glow and the price is amazing. This is THE most underated product. I love it so much and the packaging is so nice as well <3

So good, so cheap and no, it doesn’t pill
11 November 2021

I’m about to order my 3rd bottle of this stuff; it really works! (FWIW, I didn’t think it would. I’ve done a lot of reading on Vitamjn C, and this wasn’t supposed to be my choice.) Stronger Vitamin C serums tend to sensitize my skin. I can’t use The Ordinary’s EAA formulation for instance; it causes irritation and bumpiness. I also hate oily serums for daytime. Yuck. This one is water based, doesn’t smell terrible, and doesn’t pill (contrary to what some reviewers have mentioned). Even if you use a ton by accident, which I’ve done, it honestly doesn’t pill under makeup/sunscreen. If it’s pilling it’s because you’re putting it over something and you shouldn’t be. Water based serums go on first, after toner, if you use it. I had horrible melasma across my forehead ... MoreI’m about to order my 3rd bottle of this stuff; it really works! I look like myself again. I use this every AM under sunscreen. I spread it pretty liberally because it’s cheap! You only need a couple of drops though for the entire face. Will continue to repurchase.

pills a lot, not effective
14 October 2021

I have been using this every morning for a while now, maybe 2 months and am halfway through the bottle. I wouldn’t recommend it honestly, I haven’t noticed any difference in my skin evenness or brightness (I have with other vitamin c products pretty quickly). My worst gripe with this is that it pills a LOT. Even just with spf on top. If you wear makeup this will definitely not work for you, even without makeup I find it balling up on my skin. It is more ‘gel like’ as others have noted. I’m trying the inkeylist now and I already prefer the texture and it sinks into the skin much nicer with a thinner formula. The benefits of the product IMO are the price point and the tinted bottle which helps protect the integrity of the formula, but if it doesn’t work it isn’t worth ... MoreI have been using this every morning for a while now, maybe 2 months and am halfway through the bottle.
