Uniden DECT Digital Phone System

This was a repeat purchase after a previous version had started to be unreliable after about 10 years. .The new version seems very similar to the old one, although it has a slightly less solid 'feel'. It works well and meets all requirements. The sound quality seems superior to the old version, and all other performance characteristics seem at least equally satisfactory. The instruction book could be more informative (eg re use of the intercom facility) but serves its purpose. The screen displays are rather hard to read because so many characters are squeezed into a small space, but they are still usable. So with the good pricing, this is a very good buy and should give full satisfaction.

Does everything well

I do not use many of the features, I have severe and advanced osteo arthrites and I am in my eighties and live alone and I use it for my safety. The four phones are spread beside bed, bathroom, toilet and any areas that might cause a fall. They hae a loud ring and 100% reliability. They replaced a triple pack I used for years that were damaged by a lightning strike so I knew what to expect from the product.

Excellent Cordless Phones

I found these phones outstanding. I have very poor vision and found the buttons and numbers far too small. The phones are ideal in any home with the advantage of using the additional phones that can be connected via a power point in any room. The price is is well worth the advantage to have this convince.

Good basic phone

Previous phone,s operation manual was almost biblical in length and complexity of use. Very simple programming on this Uniden but maybe just a bit too simple. For example it does not mention when entering a phonebook contact you have to press "Menu" to swap between entering name and number. So a few attempts may have to be made to set the phone up but certainly not too difficult. But the handset itself is light and has adequate volume for those slightly hard of hearing. The base station is unobtrusive hanging on the wall and in fact used the same mounting screws as the one it replaces!.

Great wireless phone system.

I purchased this Uniden system to replace an older Uniden system that was no longer compatible when we were changed over to the NBN. Uniden has been a great problem free system over the past 10 years or so and I purchased again due to it's reliability. Purchasing through Bunnings was trouble free and the unit was delivered free direct from Uniden.

Pros: * Very inexpensive set & good value for money. *Light weight handsets. *Great that you only have to program ONE handset with your frequently used phone numbers in the 'PHONEBOOK' & it automatically adds your contacts to the 3 other handsets (great improvement on previous models).Cons: *I really miss the variable ring tone caller ID feature that ramped up caller ID capability with instant audio recognition via different, individualised ring tones for frequent callers. Why remove a useful feature? * to add insult to injury, the LCD font is small & hard to use as a reference tool to ID callers on the run (particularly if you need to find glasses 1st!!!). Please bring audio caller ID feature back.

They do the job.

apart form having a short battery life ( the booklet suggests 12 months) these phones are fine. Thisis the second set we have had. The first worked fine but when the batteries get toward the endow their life the phones are not reliable. they fade out, drop calls and sometimes were difficult to hear. The new batteries are listed at $30 cat uniden meaning $90 for the three handsets. WE bought a new set as it was very little dearer than new batteries.

Uniden Cordless phone

Good Cordless Phone and easy to use and set up a great second handset for the homeoffice space. I would not recommend buying this item online as you probably will not be dispatched. Trying to contact the orginating store - Fyshwick was a nightmare, staff too lazy to pick up the phone or if the phone is answered just hang up in your ear. I would recommend going in store and speaking directly to the sales staff and buying directly from the store.

Very Good for the price.

A good phone, well priced. This is the 2nd uniden phone set we have owned replacing the uniden xdect 8155 - 3 handset model. Not much in features has changed since that model but it ring calls and answers as a phone should. The ringer could be a little louder its definitely not as loud as the previous model we owned. I recommend this phone set though.

cheap and nasty

Purchased this phone approx 18mths ago and now one of the cradles no longer charges the phone (it probably stopped working earlier as it took me a while to notice and narrow down the problem).Older people find it hard to hear me even though I have adjusted the phone to the best it can go. The problem is definitely at my end because it doesn’t matter what other older people are using – landline, mobile, various different brands of phone, etc, etc.Also, the buttons wore out quickly (to select the menu, phone book, ringer tone, etc) and now you have to press really hard to get them to workWould never purchase this phone again
