Bought mine 13~ish years ago in Switzerland. It's still going strong today, this penknife has come in handy more times than I can count over the years. I've used every single tool and its taken a serious beating. I have no doubt it will keep going for another 13 years and probably longer.

I have owned this knife for 27 years. I lost the little pick and tweezers tool years ago but have kept it in my tool box and used it regularly.I thought it was time to buy a new tool to go in my emergency grab bag which would double as a saw, can opener, cork screw, bottle opener and also have a decent, secure, durable and above all else, sharp main blade.I eventually narrowed my choices to two, a Gerber and a Leatherman but every time I found myself comparing the sharpness of the blade and the durability and comfort of the handle shape to my trusty old Swiss Army Forester. So there you have it. No need to waste my cash on a new tool.Just transferred my Swiss Army from my tool bag to my grab bag where it now sits attached by green para cord to the shoulder strap ... MoreI have owned this knife for 27 years. I would love the saw blade to lock but would only use in a dire emergency anyway but I know it would be as trustworthy as the rest of the knife. Brilliant bit of kit from a trustworthy brand.

I have carried an Adventurer for many years, and it is my favorite pocket knife. The only criticism is the change to the blade lock feature. The old style thumb slide was much easier to operate than the cross lock on the newer models. I am tempted to send in one of my older models to see if it can be rebuilt. Overall, this still a quality knife and preforms it's duties.Bill.
Wanted a knife with the Philips head. Pity not on offer, and wonder about legality in UK of blade.Delivery very good, came as scheduled. It replaces an M&S me too from some years ago, which had parts coming loose after long service. Not expecting a Victorinex knife to do so, although wont be able to carry so often.
This is a very good robust knifeIt is the most similar knife to a US Government issued KCU knifeKnifeCombatUtilityThe Differences being a KCU has a separated main blade and is assembled in the USA to comply with the Berry AmendmentThis is made in Switzerland as all true Swiss army knifes areGreat Camping Knife or For every day carry with a nylon sheath if you need or want to carry that size of a blade.
Seller easy to deal with. New Swiss army knives always have razor sharp blades. Still undecided on the new way the lock blade is locked/unlocked. I guess its a change in the right direction. Fast shipping. Pricey.
I have owned this knife for over 20 years. I used it daily, even saved a horses life with it. Was so used to carrying it I forgot I had it with me as I was entering a music festival and had it confiscated (My own fault I guess) I was deeply saddened. Extremely happy to find it is still in production. Ordered it on line Monday, at my door Tuesday! Perfect size and weight, quality throughout. The best knife I have ever owned.Just wondering why the great locking release was changed. The little grey button on the side. I loved it, mine worked perfectly. Thank you Victorinox. I'm a customer for life!
You really cant beat SAKs. One of the best sharp out the box knives you can buy. Of the larger sizes, this one, the forester is definitely my favorite, if anything the only one better is the one handed version. The essential tools for camp/outdoor crafting. Armed with a saw a hearty blade the can/bottle openers and the ever useful awl and corkscrew! Not overly complicated with tools you dont need.
