We moved to Adelaide South Australia in 2020 and found a new passion and hobby! South Australia has some of the best wine regions in the world and we found that there is a vast variety of styles grown right here on our own backyard. This is an elegant fridge. It looks good in my house. I keep it in a separate room, and you might want to do that to avoid hearing fridge noises, which are to be expected with any fridge. One complaint I have though is that, in practical terms, it does not fit 148 bottles. I'm sure it's physically capable of fitting that many, but that is with all shelves removed, all Bordeaux bottles, stacked forward to back. If you want to stand a chance of removing bottles without the whole thing falling in a heap, and keeping them on shelves, and storing different types of bottles (eg pinot, shiraz, riesling, chardonnay), you're looking more realistically at 80-90 bottles. It’s both a wonderful display piece and a very useful tool to house my growing selection of premium wines.The features are great (dual temp control areas) and it is easy and intuitive to use. All the services attached (Langton, exclusive Vintec club benefits) are professional and add value.I cannot give it five stars however as the fridges are very expensive, and since buying the Vintec I have found more affordable versions. The other thing that frustrates me is the capacity of the fridge being misleading. Received this as a gift from my husband and I could complain about the change in aesthetics from my more environmentally sound, easier accessible wine racks that I received from Mothers Day, but it’s a good alternative.Difficult to see the wine inside the unit. Husband has promised to order and catalogue the wine, because I work full time, study part time, and am a parent. This might be my birthday present?!Looks flash, keeps the wine cool (even in the Tasmanian summer), and takes up less room than the wine racks.Joking aside, it’s a clever design that comes with extra perks, like a wine broker.Just check with your wife first that it is what she really wants for Christmas…
Bought the fridge a few months ago now and it’s working great, it keeps a steady temperature that is preferred for cellaring.The only thing I have a slight annoyance with is the shelves for the fridge. When looking at the website at instructions, how to cellar etc with storing them it shows how to store back and front easy and stack them.However the shelves for doing this is not available for this fridge and there is no mentioning that this is not able to do with this fridge.It still holds a good amount of wines I can squeeze in appx 100-120 in there with my current set up. This fridge looks great, but I struggle to think how you would get 148 bottles (or even close) into it. I've got just over 70 in mine, and I'd suggest I could get another 15-20 in there max. It is more realistically a 90 bottle fridge. As per other reviews, it is also a little noisy. I expected a bit of noise (it is a fridge after all.) but the condenser has a fairly constant high pitch squeal. (yes it's perfectly level..) It's not unbearable, especially if you have the TV on etc, but if sitting in silence reading, etc, it gets on your nerves very quickly. I've had other wine fridges, and friends who have others, and they aren't as noisy. I bought my first Vintec a couple of months ago and it's perfect for my wine collection. Love the temperature controls, lighting and general look. The OENO app that comes with it is also awesome for keeping track of wine and makes it easy to locate bottles. Highly recommend getting a Vintec, the overall quality is excellent!The only cons: There's no way it fits 148 bottles, it's impossible to stack variously sized wine bottles to achieve that. My wine bottles also slip out of the bottom shelf, they are standard size but seem to be slightly too long for the fridge, which slopes downwards at the bottom without any grip to keep the bottles in place.
I've been wanting a Vintec for some time and a few weeks after our home renovation was complete, we found the perfect one. We're very happy with the product and it looks amazing in our dining space and most importantly, after a small battle, my wife likes it too. One thing that I suspect you might hear a fair bit re this model, is, there's really not much chance of fitting in 148 bottles, unless you only drink Bordeaux, which we don't. That said, we can still get in around 90ish, which is a decent amount of wine and on the whole, we're very glad we purchased it. I tried to upload a couple of pictures, but the system kept buffering, which is a shame.
I should rate the 148-bottle cabinet for 1 star. The extra star is given to the service centre team as they did a fantastic job providing me with all the necessary assistance. The wine cabinet has been changed four times since I bought it in April this year. The 4th replacement is coming next week.Somehow the quality control of the Vintec cabinet is poor. My first cabinet got a noise issue. The second replacement got a cosmetic defect (two chips on the glass door). The third replacement has cooling and cosmetic issues (a deep scratch on the door and a crack inside the LED lighting cover).Vintec is a premium and fan-backed wine cabinet brand. They should contact manufacturers to solve the QC issue so the brand can maintain the highest quality standard.
