I had some Garden of Life collagen and hated it. The only thing i coukd do to tolerate it was put it in hot chocolate, but thay cost more money and the hot chocolate wasnt settling well. A friend got me this to try instead affer i read reciews that it doesn't clump. This by Vital is awesome. I did not expect to like it. i followed the directions and it did not clump except tiny particles.... nothing like the Garden kind I am used to. I used cold milk, though it says to use water (you can use whatever you want)Vital Protein appears to be a good source of collagen. 20 grams is the most I've found per serving. I have never found a warning label on my Garden brand about lead....so i looked it up to see why. I am thankful to the Vital company, because I've been taking collagen a few months to help my knee pain thay I've had over a year but collagen makes the pain almoat completely gone unless I go a few days without it. Turns out ALL collagen supplements and even things with gelatin have lead in them. Thus includes jello. Basically collagen come from bones etc and EVEN an organically grown animal has kead that accumulates into their bones. So even homemade will have lead.I plan instead to look into what I can take to get my body to make my own collagen. Also, collagen supplements are missing a nutrient we need and its not in collagen supplements. This stuff tastes awesome....but lead isn't really something I want to mess with. I am sure it is safe occasionally, but lead is definitely a cause of concern for this and ANY other supplement. I took a star because of it, but kind should add one...but in reality lead isn't something to play with.

I've recently transitioned to a keto diet and feel great. I've heard a lot of good things about collagen and was recommended this brand, so I just grabbed a 20oz from Target.I'm sure I'll get the amazing benefits of the collagen but I feel like I need to address 2 issues I've ran into that left me rather disappointed.1- I thought I was getting the tub with Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamin C but upon closer inspection, the tub I purchased did not include these. I take responsibility as I was excited and didn't check at the store but only until I returned home. Feels like I wasted $$$ when I was hoping for the additional ingredients, as the benefits for those are great.2- The no scoop thing is frustrating. Every powdered supplement I've ever taken has had a scoop to make getting my servings in much simpler/easier/quicker, especially when you're new to a new supplement. I've read the reasoning behind this (sustainability) and it's a little laughable to mention cutting out the plastic of the scoop, when the entire tub is made of plastic....? Surely an alternative could have been come up with, rather than disposing of the useful tool that is generally expected with this product.. As the company, you can do whatever you'd like, for whatever reason - it's your company/product.. and as a consumer, I can spend my money on a product that meets my expectations. I'm excited for the benefits I'll receive by supplementing collagen but will definitely try a different brand when this tub is empty.

I love this product! I have been using it for over 2 years now and love the effects. I like to put it in my post workout protein shakes to be my daily collagen dose. The last container I bought had a new design. The container has a new way of sealing the product, a perforated rip tie. Before, the container used to have the same twist lid, but under was a tamper seal over the opening. I found this new perforated tab to open the container to be highly complicated. The tab is incredibly small, and recessed with the lid making it very difficult to grab. Another complication I have experience several times with this product, is with the scoop. Two years ago I started trying to grow my hair out after chemo. Then, I got Covid a few months later, and my hair fell out even more. A friend at church with gorgeous hair recommended this product. She said she also had the same problem after Covid, and this was amazing! I was very hesitant, but finally took the chance. Twice in the last 2 years, I let it run out before getting to the store. There has been a huge difference in those few days in between, thus I know it works for sure. My nails chip and break, and my hair becomes limp and dry. I already take a large amount of vitamins every day due to an autoimmune disorder, and it was never enough till I came across this product. My hair is long again and healthy looking! My hair is long again and healthy looking! I add it to my morning coffee, tea, or smoothie. It has no flavor, so it doesn't affect taste. The only downside I just noticed was in this last jar there is no scooper. I really depended on it, and I wish I had known they would discontinue it, so I could have kept my last one.
I recently started incorporating Vital Proteins Marine Collagen into my daily routine and I couldn't be happier with the results.Firstly, the fact that it is unflavored is a huge plus for me. I was recommended to try this product by a very good friend. I had no specific symptoms that I was hoping to "fix" other than just feeling a little older. I am 49, have just had a total hysterectomy and was managing all my menopausal symptoms really well (after some trial and error, like us all!) with HRT. So, to be honest, I wasn't sure why I was buying it. I bought one large pot and I made it last a month! During that month I didn't really notice any difference, was I expecting to? Probably not. I didn't rebut it again for about six weeks and during that six weeks I noticed that my hair loss had increased. What I hadn't noticed during the month of taking it was that my daily hair loss had slowed considerably. Don't get me wrong I have LOTS of hair yet I lose a lot ... Taking this supplement - although early days - has seemingly helped with a symptom that I was really only semi-conscious of.
This is one of the most underrated supplements i think. The simplest way to put it is I dont notice much when I am using it, but I absolutely notice when I'm not. ESPECIALLY when I'm reaching my period and the hormones are hormoning. During a time where I had stopped using this, I noticed immediately how much more spots I was getting (which was almost none when i was using it). if you want to not notice your skin, use this! my skin used to be such a big worry for me, and thankfully with a few changes and products, I've gotten to a point of not even really noticing my skin. This product (though certainly not the ONLY thing that helped me) compounds and works super well with a decent diet and some wonderful products that work for you. This stuff is now on my Do Not Buy list. I've taken collagen powder as a hot chocolate drink for years...love it. So this premixed powder sounded great. But this stuff is three times harder to dissolve in BOILING water than the four or five other brands I've used. Even that was not the issue. It was the awful taste. Probably the very first "chocolate" anything that tasted truly bad. I though adding a teaspoon of it to my regular stuff would at least not let it go to waste...but even a small amount ruined the chocolate flavor of a well known mix. To me it has a bitter taste like old dried ground up weeds. Can't explain it, just know I LOVE hot chocolate with collagen powder mixed in, but this stuff tastes like something else altogether! ...and it ain't good. So, no, ...
