I consider this a must-have if you're purchasing the Ken Onion. Even if you're exclusively sharpening knives, the results from the BGA are incredible. There is a 3D-printed riser shelf that you absolutely should print/purchase; it completes the already brilliant product.

A compact sharpener with BIG results, It works GREAT!

the Work Sharp is a very handy portable size great choice of belts for grinding to sharpening, the adjustable speed and lock works well for the hands free. Taking off the head is easy and changing belts is very quick and easy, tracking adjustment and angle degree is also a breeze to adjust. I find that the grinder attachment is better for making sure that the knife edge is always moving away from the edge, where as using the head that comes with the work sharp when you go to sharpen the right side of a blade the belt is going towards the edge, so you could potentiality cut into a belt or catch the knife edge and damage it. Using the grinder attachment eliminates that by let you reverse the direction as there are no guides blocking you from going from right to left.

Best Sharpening Attachment I Have Seen

I started with the standard Work Sharp model and moved to the Ken Onion edition to have better control of the angle. I have had countless types of sharpeners over the years(50+) and this blade sharpener attachment is by far the best I have used. If you have pretty good dexterity, you can put an edge on nearly anything in fairly short order.

Best sharpener ever

Ive been using ken onion sharpeners for 3 years now. Best blades ove ever used are in better shape now then ever. Bought the blade grinder. Now ive also got the sharpest tools ever. I use it for multiple things. Like machetes and garden tools. Lawn mower blades. Whatever i think needs to be sharp. Have never been able to get results like this item does. So happy to have it in with all of my tools. The Ken Onion products are well built and last forever. You cant go wrong with them. If you just follow instructions

Next time, remove the alarm

Order went perfectly, arrived in a couple of days, and the sharpener is great.... but please, remember to remove the alarm device from the package next time. Once I'd cut the wire, it whooped at me for quite a while, until the battery died. How could your shipping associate not notice... it's a fairly large (and probably costly) device!

Not what I wanted

Not what it appeared to be , it looked like the complete unit when I placed my order. But up on arrival I find it is just an attachment. UUGH.

Solid construction and device should last for many years.

This attachment is awesome. I use it in place of the attachment that came with the sharpener because some of my knives thickness of the blade prevented the proper angle to sharpen the blade. This resolved the issue. I recommend to watch uTube videos. There are lots of videos featuring this attachment. The videos are very useful because this attachment requires more attention to knife angle and placement. The end result is knives that shave hair. Very well built and a solid piece that should last for many years.

Takes fast home sharpening to the next level!

This attachment takes home belt sharpening to the next level. I have been a Worksharp customer for years. I have the guided sharpener and the original belt sharpener. I upgraded to the Ken Onion version, so I made a gift of the original, because I knew it would alow me to refine the sharpening process. This attachment is the fulfillment of that process. It allows you to refine the edge angle and the longer 3/4" belts last much longer. The flexibility to put an edge on any device, hand tool or even kitchen cutlery is fast and simple. I purchased this attachment with my Work Sharp as a recommendation from a friend. He was right, if you purchase the Ken Onion Work Sharp, you NEED this attachment to maximize the sharpener’s full potential. It’s a chunk of money to plop down all at once, but trust me, you’ll be searching for blades to sharpen once you get the hang of this combo. If you’re on the fence, BUY IT, you won’t regret it.
