Zojirushi Rice Cooker for Overseas Use NS-ZCC10(120V)

I have the Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker, 5.5-Cup, Premium White model. I have only used this to make white rice. I really like the fact that it has a separate cup (green) and cook feature for the "pre-washed" rice. I trusted that "no washing required" meant no washing required, and it's true! Just scoop in the rice, add the water (exactly to the line) and cook. The rice comes out perfect every time. No brown spots, no hard grains, no slime. If you have time, make sure to 'fluff' the rice when the timer goes off, and then let it sit a bit before serving. For cleanup, If you let the pot completely cool, the leftover rice and sticky film (called 'rice lace') can be wiped out of the pot with a paper towel or cloth. Almost perfect

It really takes rice to the next level. Perfect every time. If you're used to 25 minute rice, be aware this takes longer because of the neuro fuzzy logic. 2 cups of jasmine rice takes 45 minutes. The single flaw is the non-user-replaceable internal battery for the clock. When it dies, Zojirushi expects you to send in. If your battery dies and you plan to use the cook timer (example, have rice ready by 7pm), you would need to setup the clock each time you plug in the rice cooker.

Bulk Cook Perfect White Rice

I've had this rice cooker for over a year. Though it offers other settings, I've only used it to make short grain white rice. Why? The rice is perfect every time. The 10 cup model allowed me to make an abundance for meals with friends and family, as well as plenty to meal prep. By freezing the rice I have the same quality as fresh out the rice maker whenever I want it. I've made anywhere from 2-10 cups of rice. The amount of rice doesn't matter, you'll get the same quality. Having an appliance that's durable and reliable is essential in our home.

Disappointed

I was really excited for this rice cooker, but unfortunately it has not performed like I wanted it to. I have been making jasmine rice in the cooker according to the directions it came with using the rice cup that it came with using jasmine rice (1.25 cups of water per cup of rice), and it's been giving me mushy rice. I've tried it on the regular white rice setting and quick cook setting, and it's been mushy on both settings. The last time I made rice, I used 2 regular cups (not using the rice cup) of jasmine rice and filled the water to the 2 line, and it came out better but a little dry. I will keep experimenting with it, and hopefully I can find the right ratio of jasmine rice to water. Easy to use and with water adjustment makes good rice

I have learned that I like my rice a little more "al dente" than the Japanese do with this rice cooker ! The "hard" white rice setting is pretty good.... maybe a just little soft. The brown rice strikes me as over-cooked but once I reduced the water it was OK. The black rice using the brown setting turned out better. Its very easy to use and if you don't mind starting the rice early (since it takes longer than the stove-top), it really does automate that part of the cooking process.

How much are you willing to pay for great rice?

In the package is the appliance, a serving paddle and a clip that attaches the paddle to the rice cooker and not one, but two measuring cups.I use mine strictly for rice, but it also has settings porridge (oatmeal?) as well. The chime is pretty and not annoying like on so many of my other appliances. The only negative I have is that the timer doesn't show until there's about 20 or so minutes left to cook. Nice Rice Cooker

This rice cooker is perfect for the two of us. It plays a little tune when it starts cooking and when it is done. The cooker has a timer which is nice to see how much time is left. It can cook various types of rice and cook to different levels- harder, regular, or softer. The cooker comes with a serving paddle, a measuring cup for rice, and a measuring cup for liquid. This is a bit pricey but worth the money for us.

Perfect rice cooker that has lasted a dozen years

Bought our 5.5c Neuro Fuzzy more than 12 years ago. It has cooked over 900 lbs of rice in this time. It has always cooked our rice (Thai jasmine, 1st crop usually; also short-grain rice for a Thai congee) perfectly all this time. 'Keep warm' feature is flawless. We have never had a problem with it, or found it necessary to replace any parts. Still looks new, though the pot is just beginning to show some wear. It is nice to know that IF we need another non-stick pot, it is available. This appliance is simply amazing.

Although, it is a little bit bulkier than I expected, it’s this particular model that I really liked because it has smart & intuitive cooking features with it.That means that the heating of the food can be adjusted as the rice is cooking. This allows for perfect rice every time. Based on the reviews the quality of this device is strong and durable. Also with the handles it allows you to pick up the rice cooker to remove from its base in order to wash the rice or even clean the cylinder itself. This thing does it all. I use it almost everyday. It makes perfect rice every time no matter the quantity or type of rice. It is incredibly easy to clean and maintain. The ability to keep the rice warm for 4 hours is also very handy. Meal prep is so much easier when you don't have to think about rice getting cold. I cannot say enough great things about this rice cooker!
