I have been buying GHDs for almost 20 years. I am loyal to this brand, because they are always ahead of everyone else and never fail to disappoint. Their straighteners are strong, durable and have the best technology. These GHD platinum+ straighteners are no different. In fact they have really knocked it out the park this time! From the sleek design, to the new features I am loving these straighteners. They heat up super fast, and have the optimum heat required to straighten your hair quickly, and easily. They recognise the thickness of your hair and adjusts the heat along the plates when styling. Guaranteeing even heat across the whole plate. The rounded barrel of the platinum+ is perfect for creating different styles, straightening your hair flawlessly, to curls or loose waves. Meaning one device can do multiple hair styles. Making it so versatile. As well as this, it has universal voltage so I can pack them up in my suitcase and travel anywhere in the world and still have the same outstanding quality wherever I am. Also included is a Heat resistant protective plate guard. This allows you to cover the heated plates immediately after use. So no need to wait for the plates to cool down first. You can feel safe that this guard will protect you. It also has an automatic sleep mode. Which switches off the straighteners if they have not been used for 30 minutes. No need to worry if you have left the house, and forgotten to turn off your straighteners. As after 30 minutes they will switch off automatically. The cord is long at 2.7m which also swivels 360 degrees, so no more tangling. Making it so convenient. I just love everything about these straighteners. I have been using the GHD platinum straighteners for a few years. These are an upgrade on the previous ones I was using with all these new features. I would highly recommend these GHD platinum+ hair straighteners.

Not gonna lie, this is my first Voxbox. I knew I was getting a hair straightener but since it was free I thought it wouldn’t be good as a Chi. Well , I was SO wrong! Usually when I flat iron my hair I put some serum for the heat protectant and because my hair is thick and wavy (damaged from bleach) so, I said I’m going to try this without the serum so I can do an honest review it was before work getting my daughter ready for daycare, I put my hair in pigtails and I started on one side at maximum heat after only letting it heat up about 3 minutes. I took a good sized section of my hair and straightened it and I usually have to go over it about 4 times with my Chi and I end up having to iron out the bumps at the top where I first started ironing, no lie- none of that. ... In one stroke this straightener had my hair STRAIGHT! I was so excited. It usually takes me a good 30 minutes to straighten my hair this straighten did it in about 15 because I had my niece come in the room she’s biracial and I brushed half of her hair did the pigtails and her hair was straight too, I was like this has got to be a dream or something I finished her hair and had to leave for work but it was straight all day I worked 8 hours and my job is strenuous and you sweat constantly I didn’t even notice any of my hair getting thick until 6 hours in from sweating so much. I swear when I was done with the straightener I almost cried like I found my next husband like where have you been all of my life. Don’t need serum, saves me time, lasts all day unless I sweat a lot. I swear I’m selling all of my chi”s and other hair straighteners on marketplace and I will buy this brand only for ever now. Don’t think just because I got it free I’m blowing it up get one and you’ll see for yourself! It’s worth the money if we spend $100+ on a hair dryer, we can spend a little more to see our hair the way we have always pictured it but it was never as straight as it could be. This is definitely made for ALL hair types curly, wavy, extremely curly, straight gets even straighter, frizzy, thick , thin, color damaged! Get this iron you will not be disappointed it’s my off day I been in bed all day I’ll take some pictures of it in a little while after I do my hair, it’s even in the “Allure hall of fame”!!!

To give the ghd Platinum + Styler a fair shot, I did my normal routine when I decide to flat iron my hair. It’s usually because I washed my hair the night before and was too tired to blow it out which happens. 😂 I used a detangling spray on my damp hair after washing and let it air dry. I slept with my air dried hair up in a loose top knot. For reference, my hair is at about a 2c, is thick stubborn and very prone to frizz. It’s also color treated all over along with balayage highlights. That mess you see is usually the state of my hair before I style it in the morning.I plugged it in and pressed the power button located in the inner portion of the flat iron. This styling tool seemed very ergonomically designed and felt good around my hand, causing me not to strain my wrists which suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome. It was also weighted but not heavy. Before using the ghd Platinum +, I sectioned my hair and sprayed each section with a heat protectant right before I passed it with the flat iron.My main observations during usage was that the flat iron was not incredibly hot like some previous ones I have used even in or around the temperature that the ghd platinum + remains in (365 degrees) and my hair cools down to the touch after each pass almost immediately. There was no sizzle and smoke coming out of my hair so it was incredibly gentle in heat but took only two passes to achieve the results I wanted. The hair straighteners that I’ve used in the past took higher heat and more passes to get my hair straight which I know definitely causes major damage in my already vulnerable color treated hair. It took me about 25 mins to finish my entire head of hair when I normally take about 30-40 mins with other flat irons which was a very pleasant surprise. After usage, I applied hair oil to my mid lengths and ends for

Fantastic product. My hair is very long and thick and I’ve struggled with styling it in the past. It took well over an hour before this straightener came into my life. Now it takes about 20-30 mins which makes me very happy! My hair straightened within one stroke, hair felt soft, undamaged and frizz free. Hair stayed straight in hot weather and stayed straight when sleeping on it. Overall my hair stayed straight until I washed it and didn’t need re-straightening. It is also very easy to curl my hair and gave the most beautiful curls that held well for a few days. Overall I love how quick it heats up, the noise it makes when it’s ready to use, the swivel cord as makes it so much easier to use than non swivel cords. Fabulous straightener, very versatile, feels well made and lighter than other ghd straightness. Lots of compliments on my hair from using this. Very happy with this product.

I did NOT receive this for free or any compensation - so many promo reviews nowadays, ugh! After my faithful straightener of 10 years died (other brand), I went into research mode on straighteners. Who knew there were so many today. I went back-and-forth on buying this straightener forever. I first ended up with a T# from a bulkdiscountstore because I thought all the straighteners were too expensive. After the plates on that tugged my hair too much, and it took forever to turn on, I returned it and bit the bullet on the GHD when it went on holiday sale.I love the platinum+. It heats up super fast, the tone that it's on and it's ready is annoying but helpful when I'm doing other things (for the 20-30 or whatever seconds it takes to get to temp hah!), it works, and it leaves my hair soft and shiny (with heat protectant of course). I was very worried about it tugging or my hair getting stuck in the edge of the plates like other reviewers, but I've had no issues with this! I noticed if I try to just go at my hair vs. grabbing a section with my hand it pulls a bit, so I'm wondering if people are just trying to straighten a section that's too wide? (No shade! I just haven't had this issue and was sooo concerned about it/hair loss as someone in their late 30s with hormonal hair fall volumes). I can't speak to longevity as I've only had it for about a month, but so far I love it.
I received this product for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I’ve been using this on my long and thick hair for roughly 2 weeks now, and WOW. It’s so sleek and easy to hold, heats up fast (literally takes a few seconds), and does an outstanding job of straightening your hair without drying it out. Compared to any straightener I’ve tried, this one takes my top spot. Love that you can also use it to curl your hair (plenty of YouTube tutorials on this), love that despite being only 1” wide it straightens your hair fast (used to take me about 10 minutes to do my whole head, now it takes 3!), love the technology in the heating elements that automatically adjust the intensity of heat (doesn’t dry your hair out), love how it comes with a guard to put ... And added bonus - it plays a little time when it’s ready to use :)
I purchased this GHD Platinum styler that was recommended by my hair stylist & I wish I would have done more research on my own first and read more reviews before spending so much money on this flat iron. I am sadly disappointed in this straighter as you can't adjust the heat setting and the temperature "adjusts to your hair." My hair is very fine, thin and curly and I am not impressed. It does not leave my hair straight compared to a less expensive straightener & sadly the straightener's plates catch my hair and pulls my hair out & gets stuck in the plates. The straightener has damaged my ends and pulls out hair constantly. The plus and cord are long and heavy and clunky. It doesn't work for me who has super fined thin hair & it's not worth the cost to ruin my hair. I would defiantly not recommend this hair straightener to others.
These are my second pair of platinum+ GHDs. They’re far superior to any other straighteners I’ve tried. They replaced my three year old platinum+ straighteners which were still working but were nowhere near as effective anymore. The one thing both my old and new pairs have in common is that they both have two little grooves at the bottom of the plates which seem to catch my hair. Just the odd strand every few strokes, but on most occasions when I use these, I end up with a bit of hair that gets stuck and breaks off or is pulled out from the root. These grooves/gaps are not evident on the original GHDs (old and new versions) so I really don’t know why they are on these. Surely it’s a design flaw. I have seen lots of reviews saying the same thing so I don’t think I have just been unlucky (given that it’s been a problem on both pairs). I still use them, and got them for a great price, but I really hope ghd read all their reviews and realise they need to do something about this. I’m hoping that there will be an updated and improved platinum model by the time I need another pair. These are by far the best at straightening (I have used their direct competitor’s straighteners and they don’t come close in my opinion). They just need a design update.
I was super excited about this product! I received it and it exceeded my expectations! I’m a gal who doesn’t splurge on hair tools, but this is worth the splurge. This is perfect for my fine, thin, dyed hair! I have straightened and curled my hair with the Platinum+ Styler. It’s multi-functional and gives my hair a silky, smooth shine that lasts all day. I really value the sleep mode feature of the product as well, because I tend to leave my heat tools on and this protects me and allows me to make sure I won’t ever leave it on! It’s sleek and modern, and is built to give my hair the perfect style. It’s also smaller, which is really great for storing it! It comes in great packaging which can be used to store it in a vanity drawer. It’s long lasting and has warranty, ... MoreI was super excited about this product!
