The first thing I noticed picking up the bottle is how slender it is, which is a nice improvement on perfume bottles that are large and clunky.Tom Ford's perfumes are not for the faint of heart. They are bold and loud. I was immediately drawn to the smell of the new Black Orchid Parfume, which has a warm spicy floral tone that sits on your skin all day long. A little spray goes a LONG way-- as even after I showered, I could still smell this perfume lingering. Something is intoxicating about the scent, and I think it is the Patchouli that really pulls me in. However, it's easy to over do it with this perfume, and I find myself wishing it was a tad lighter. If you are sensitive to smells, then this is not the perfume for you.On the other hand, the original Black Orchid Eau De Parfum has a bit of an ode to the fragrances of the past-- think Chanel No. 5 vibes. The Eau De Parfum has an even spicer uncurrent that I found hard to ignore and was a bit overwhelming for me personally. Between the two, I think that the new Tom Ford Black Orchid Parfum is the winner.

Hopefully I’d love this, too. Oh, boy. Was I right. This is the sexiest fragrance I’ve ever owned! Hubby loves it so much he didn’t even ask how much it cost. That’s a first. Black Orchid is usually in a black bottle. This version in the gold bottle is a more intense version of the parfum. There’s a mysterious allure to this scent that envelopes you as soon as it hits your skin. I smell the bergamot and ylang-ylang right away, but as it settles the black plum, golden rum and patchouli notes come through with a seductive warmth. This isn’t a scent for the faint of heart or for those afraid of stealing them. And you’re gonna pay for that heart stopping privilege. The price for 1.7 oz is $165 and 3.4 oz is $210. One more thing, the longevity is amazing. I sprayed 2 pumps in the evening about 6 pm and could still smell it in the morning when I woke up. So it may be on the pricier side (yet it’s one of the cheaper Tom Ford fragrances), but it does last a long time. I don’t mind paying more for a fragrance that isn’t gone in 2 hours.

As I was wearing it idk how or why, but I felt very like sultry and sexy, like I was in a whiskey bar and about to be hit on lol. Like talk about the perfect perfume to spray while wearing lingerie, it just like brings out a sort of confidence (I had no idea perfume could even do that??) I know that sounds really strange (I don’t understand it either), but I swear it’s a thing! Again, I’d say let it settle and don’t spray too much like at all, barely a spritz and you’re good. I first thought this would be something that wouldn’t work for me, but I was so surprised that the longer it wore the more I liked the scent. This fragrance is now available @sephora it is definitely worth getting a trial size or sample of, if you can, prior to purchasing because the notes are strong it’s pricey. The packaging is divine, and I feel luxurious wearing this perfume!

If you are a Tom Ford fan and a lover of bold perfumes, I recommend you try on this perfume in stores before making your purchase.

The scent has a way to stick with you all day long, and goes with you from morning to night. It’s intoxicating. It’s addictive. And like a fine wine, it gets better with age (as the day goes on I mean). When I first tried this at Sephora, I knew… I had to have this. I had to make this mine. But, like most scents when I first try them I wear them home to see how I like them and to also make sure the hubby approves- and he did! The next morning I could still smell it on my seatbelt- and i was then like a lion on the hunt for food. I couldn’t wait to get off work that day to go back and make it mine. This is a more intense version of the legendary BO and it is not disappointing at its claim. It is incredibly potent, so 1 or 2 sprays is the maximum that you would need to last you all day and perhaps even longer than that. The scent is so rich and layered that it's an olfactory masterpiece. If you don't like very strong fragrance - this is probably not for you as it has a crazy strong projection. I wasn't sure I would be a fan of this, but am definitely a convert in this case. To me this is confidence and sophistication encapsulated in a bottle, but I agree this wouldn't be a scent for everyone, so, please, check it out in person before you splash your cash on this to be sure. The middle is slightly dark but not overly dense, and I think I can sense the slightest titch of whiskey notes? The top has this slow seduction to it that unfurls into the more robust, developed scent. It's slightly warm, like cashmere, but not too warm. Beautifully done!!!

I really HATE floral fragrance... and yes this is floral, but this is a beautiful exception. Its got beautiful dark, plumy, boozy and maybe smoky notes to it. You can definitely pinpoint ylang-ylang. The name describes this scent PERFECTLY, when you smell it, you picture something dark and seductive. Once you have a smell of it, and then walk away, you will want another sniff. In my opinion it is definitely a night-time fragrance, or you have to dressed in a dark/seductive way.

Outrageously Pleased, FORD is King of the Nose.

Black Orchid Parfum is utterly brilliant. It's powerful without the arrogant attitude. I understand I'm late to the part on this one, realizing this is a NEW release to the prior Parfum with the same name. Its a fragrance that impresses me each time I apply it. Each day the nose seemed to burst with complexity and diversity I had not yet registered.Ford is a genius. This is hands down my favorite fragrance. I've enjoyed many of his other scents, but I can't stop praising the work done here and no exaggeration, I have gotten complement after complement from both genders. I also ordered a smaller bottle of the prior release and it's also great but it's not the NEW Parfum. Do yourself and every person who's within your bubble a favor. Put this on your must have's.
