While I cannot speak to overclocking capabilities in this review, as I do not have the requisite skill to test it at the moment, I can speak to the out of the box experience.I see no loss in performance going from my previous Trident Z Neo CL18 @3600Mhz kit despite dropping down to 3200Mhz in the Royals. My 3DMark scores are still on par within margin of where I performed with the Neo and all my gaming numbers are still the same. (32GB total, up from 16GB - running on my x570 Aorus Master, 3900X, RTX 2070s, 240mm Lian Li AiO, 850w EVGA PSU)Asthetically, however, this is a whole new level of awesome! There really is no other way to describe these modules other than gorgeous, they are stunning. I had seen them used in YouTube builds many times but in person they are everything promised and more. For being so affordably priced I cannot see any reason to go with anything else if you are looking to build a PC that performs excellently while looking great. G.Skill truely has outdone themselves, the Royals will be my go-to's for all showcase builds from now on! Very highly recommended!

This RAM is honestly gorgeous. It's perfect for a build you're showing off. The RBGs are really nice, and completely customizable. The Trident Z lighting control isn't the best app, but does offer a lot of customization for the lighting. Definitely recommend for the aesthetics.

It's funny i got this not knowing that they were very popular,... To be honest I bought them used one set of two and then eventually another set of two among them it was one that a 25% of it its RGBs were burned but the RAM was fully functionalI decided to RMA them to Gskill and their process was a breeze , although their address it felt sketchy since it was going to some sort of PO Box, nonetheless the whole shipping back and return of the new one took , 7 business daysI don regret them so far so good!

g.Skill makes great products but you are definitely paying a full hundo for the aesthetic on this over just about any other similar ram sticks. That being said, it's a very necessary flex and I hope these go back on sale so i can snap up 2 more
I upgraded from 32GB of G.Skill Ripjaws 4 2400mhz (4 x 8GB) kit. I do a lot of Photoshop work with giant resolution files with hundreds of layers, so bumping up my ram amount, speed, along with sexy aesthetics seemed like the next path. Plus I plan to use this kit on my next build on either Ryzen / TR 3, or Intel's new 10nm CPU's (if they get their act together) assuming DDR 5 is still 2 years away. I bought 2 kits of these since all the 64GB kits had either sold out or pulled from Newegg. I had a few issues booting along with BSOD's when I first dropped them in my system, but that's because I forgot to reset the BIOS defaults. I've been running them hard for a week or so with some stress testing on OCCT and everything seems stable at XMP 3200 on my X-99 system. RGB works great as well when the SPD function is enabled in the BIOS. It's nice to know a ram kit as new as this still runs on a 5 year old Haswell-E system. ASUS X-99 Pro 3.1 (latest BIOS) 64GB Quad Channel (4 x 16GB) 3200mhz XMP @ 1.35v / 100mhz BCLK / Manually keyed in timings 16-18-18-38-1T 5820K @ 4.4ghz / 1.26v
I Love the look of these. The price does add up when filling all 4 ram slots but its totally worth it. Nothing beats the look of these in my opinion. Photos definitely don’t usually show how nice they look in person.
Ram works as intended, RGB is very smooth with minimal hot spotting, RGB also works through Asus Aura motherboards, but you’re really paying for the polished heat spreaders. If you care about the looks as much as the performance of your components, this is a great product. If you care strictly about value and performance, you can find faster DIMMs at this price point.
The ram almost has a mirror-like finish to it. And although the crystals on the top are nice plastic, i can always pretend they aren’t. I came to microcenter looking for a cable and thought about buying some trident royal ram. I decided why not and i have no regrets at all. Super high quality! (Comes with a gskill sticker and a cloth to polish it)
Mirror like finish with excellent rigid build quality. Feels like zero compromises were made and price does in fact reflect as much. Its definitely on the higher side for performance but don't think its a slouch. lighting is epic and really brings out your completed build. Find these bad boys on sale and click buy it now... you will not be sorry. easy to work with and stable as they come. every person who has seen my build immediately asks about the ram before they notice anything else. worth every single penny.
Do you care about aesthetics? Do you want all your friends to be jealous of you? Do you want to feel like you're holding an ancient jeweled artifact when you first open the box? Are you rich? Are you poor but don't care about overdrawing your bank account? Boy, do I have the product for you!All jokes aside, quite happy with this RAM, both in terms of performance and aesthetics. The mirror surface catches light from other RGB LEDs in the build and amplifies it. Has plenty of bandwidth for everything I do (gaming, photo editing, coding). It's certainly not for everybody. It tends to be a bit more expensive than other RAM products with similar specs, and you're definitely paying a premium for the looks.
