Restart, etc and get dreaded “amber” light from Orbi indicating a poor connection between satellite and router. What?... This is with a Orbi satellite with a hard wire cat 7 backhaul to the router! Band fell to less than 200Mbps... Then 20 Mbps. Now, I cannot even join Orbi with Wi-Fi on my phone. Restart, restart. Amber light. Cannot connect. Meanwhile the speed through 4G phone network is >150Mbps down and >60Mbps down. My phone at 25 CHF/mo is far superior to 2000 CHF Netgear Orbi WiFi. Unbelievable.Remove all IoT and wired connection from Orbi AP to Xbox. Unplugged power from Xbox. Result?...No signal from Orbi. Therefore kids cannot play on new Xbox present.If and when the system works, the performance is “acceptable”.But it is so confusing, delicate, expensive, it is a failed product.

I actually purchased the RBR853 with three triband stations (one base and two satellites) so I can overdo it. Anything that is worth doing is worth overdoing, as they say. The new router system replaced my old one from 2016 (also Netgear).All I had to do for the satellites was to just unplug the old one and plug in the new one. For the base, I did the same but had to change the SSID and password to the settings I wanted. Good news: the 853 is at least as good as the old one. Better news: It is actually better. I have noticed in the short time period that I have had it, the new router does not have any drop-offs that I had seen before. The coverage seems to be better as well. I would recommend this router to anyone who wants a whole-home router.

We updated our home network, as our NightHawk R7000 and extender were having problems keeping network connections and handling all of our attached devices. I purchased the Orbi 6 system with 2 satellites to provide adequate coverage and to handle all devices. Setup was very easy and was impressed that the main Orbi 6 router found and established communication with the others 2 satellite mesh routers. In all the process of switching to the new Orbi 6 mesh routers was easy and fast. The whole process took less than 2 hours, even renaming the network back to my original Network name and password. We are now running all devices and are achieving wireless speeds between 700 and 900 mbps in every room of our house, even in front and backyard. I am impressed with ease of ... I have a main house covered in steel siding, and a detached shop/garage area 30 feet from the house. The ISP supplied router (non-Orbi) cannot penetrate the sliding out to the shop/garage area and the SSID was barely detectable in most areas of the shop. In the house (MBPS) I got 350 on the level of the house with the router, about 100 upstairs, and zero out in the garage/shop. Drat! I purchased an Orbi AX6000 with two satellites. Installation was simple. In the house (MBPS) I got 450 on the level of the house with the Orbi router, 450 upstairs using one of the satellites, and 217 out in the garage/shop using the second satellite (entirely satisfactory speed level compared to the former Zero). The Orbi has easy and seamless setup and the user experience was great. However, I realized the Orbi does not have external USB-C port for hard disk. This is an extremely useful and necessary feature to run back up on the home network. I am replacing an old Apple TimeCapsule router that has a built-in disk and an USB port. I can connect a disk to the USB port and it is visible without running any special program. I use Apple’s TimeMachine to do backup. I can always connect a disk to my Mac for backup, but it is not a good solution. I did a Chat support with NetGear for the same issue, and it was about to time me out before I can finish typing. The Chat session was timed out and no results. So support was not great.
I set up internet for a small church school. We needed to be able to get more computers and gadgets online than a household router could handle. We have a very small budget. I was able to get ALL our devices online, KEEP them online, and have plenty of room to spare with this Orbi system. It is user friendly, and smooth.
I'd previously been using a Netgear Nighthawk wireless router and extender; however, with a growing population of home automation devices, it was time to upgrade to a mesh network. I'm using two RBS850 satellites with the RBR850 router (in AP mode) with terrific results. Excellent video and audio streaming results, strong backhaul signals in our mid-sized tri-level home. Orbi iPhone App works really well for initial setup, basic configuration and day-to-day management. Web app provides more advance features. Super-handy Ethernet ports on the back of each module allow a mix of wired/wireless devices and provides extender-like capabilities. I have nothing bad to say about this mesh system.
Already own an Orbi AX6000 mesh system with 3 satellites. Installed new security cameras around house and found coverage in one area sub optimal. Picked up 4th satellite installed 40ft from router and I'm running 240mbs 30 ft away through 2 brick walls. Beyond impressive!
VERY good router and satellite. Pricey but perceptibly faster than the 752. If you want the fastest router you can own, this is it. Still not a fan of Netgear Armor primarily due to the apparent lack of coordination between Netgear and Bitdefender. TWICE I have had an issue, contacted Netgear, was told to contact Bitdefender, who sent me back to Netgear. Not ready for prime time. Just leave Armor inactive and use an antivirus on the necessary devices.
