(both USB A and USB C) I decided to go for it. Arrived today, the usb c cord integrated under the stand if well thought out to exit the stand, enter the hole in the iMac stand, then plug in to the thunderbolt/usb c slot. It offers a SD card reader now facing you instead of reaching behind the iMac. It raises my iMac loose to 2 inches. Sturdy, aluminum, rubber feet to prevent sliding, and it works great. Very please to purchase this stand and will update down the road.

The Satechi has got the SD slot that photographers need and three USB-A ports for my printer, external hard drive, etc. This is a great-looking, practical solution for getting the ports that are missing on the new iMac M1's. I bought this hub because it was on sale, and I had a 2012 27â iMac that I am restoring. The hub raises the iMac just a bit, and it is perfect for my line of sight. The built-in input and output allow me to work more efficiently instead of reaching the iMacâs connections in the back. Excellent Satechi quality. I highly recommend it.

It goes well with my imac. it is convenient that the usb ports are at front rather than trying to reach behind the imac to plug in cables. It is a shame that it cannot charge my iphone through the usb-c port. it would also be good if they put in a small sliding drawer under the usb hub since there is some space there. that way i can keep my usb cables hidden away until i need them. i think that would make this stand complete. :)

The SATECHI TYPE-C ALUMINUM MONITOR STAND HUB FOR IMAC is just what I needed. While this product is primarily geared to the iMAC, I used it with my MacBook Pro laptop and a Phillips 25" USB-C external monitor. Two key features for me are elevating the monitor, and having the USB-A ports right on the front of the stand. I love this well made product. Like all Satechi products it is a well thought out and engineered product with stying, materials, and finish to rival Apple design excellence.
I bought the stand and nothing works, the audio does not work, the USB does not charge. I wrote to Satechi and I was ask for information that will probably helped them develop better products, such as my iMac model. I was also given instructions to shutdown my iMac, pull the cables off, wait 15 sec and plug everything in again etc. This product does not work and Satechi is using me, who paid with my hard earned money, and now feels like a test case!! DO NOT BUY this product. A total disappointment.

Great build quality and everything functions exactly how you expect it to.Fun fact, if you have studio monitors(speakers, whatever) and headphones, you can connect your monitors via the rear headphone jack on your iMac, but connect your headphones to the hub. MacOS then recognises two different ports and you can pick and choose in the settings without having to constantly plug or unplug. Super useful!
