People with highly stressed work life or having depression are recommended to take a higher dosage of B12. Methylcobalamin is the best form of B12. Do not go for cyanocobalamin. Before, I had great sadness which leads to depression and had suicidal thoughts. B12 helps me to cope. Those above 50yo or taking metformin can consider taking this short-term and gradually reduce by half after you feel better. As we age, our stomach does not produce enough acid to absorb B12 from the food we eat.

Thorne Research methylcobalamin was recommended to me by a chiropractor nutritionist and by my health coach. Because of my genetics I need more vitamin B12 than most people. Methylcobalamin is more easily assimilated than cyanocobalamin, and Thorne makes a particularly good product. The only negative factor is that the HPMC capsule is not for my blood type; I would prefer plain cellulose.
