Varta F21 Silver Dynamic AGM Start-Stop Car Battery

Locally, I couldn't get a big range of batteries – only Halfords or Prestige, it seemed (despite plenty of different retailers). So Tayna's online service is a really good option if you are picky about choosing reputable, reliable brands. Very pleased with the product so far - this AGM 80AH battery replaced a dying Bosch one. Product is excellent and is coping well with increased electrical demand from an upgraded stereo. Cranking capacity is impressive and consistent. Battery arrived very quickly and seriously well packaged. Happy to recommend Tayna.

Fitted to my Mercedes E250. It was sufficiently charged on delivery to start the car but I was surprised to see that it needed an overnight charge on my nominal 5 amp charger to register as fully charged.It replaces an identical Varta battery that was the original fitted in November 2014, not bad for a car with a start stop system.This battery was still working satisfactorily but a high discharge rate test suggested it was time to renew it.I hope the new one will last as long!Only four stars since I cannot rate its reliability after only a few weeks.

If you have the bmw m235i you know how fantastic it is! But if I had one complaint it would be the car doesn't sound as fast as it goes. So I found ML Performances and looked into this rear box delete. It sounds amazing! It's a must have product! The quality of the pipe work and welding is unmatched, It fits well also. Depending on your preference the tips provided are fine for the price but the ends of the tips where not rolled and where clean cut.. meaning they where pretty sharp so amending this is important if you dont want to cut yourself when washing the car. Also be aware the sound is very cool but you may come across a little bit of drone.. its expected but two ways to fix this is by when at low speeds just easing off the throttle a little more than you ... MoreIf you have the bmw m235i you know how fantastic it is! And when in sport mode (the pops are like gun shots) it's best to remove the exhaust audio fuse as it causes drone. Ps its unlikely to pass an mot, best to know your mot garage well or keep the old silencer and swap it back over for test.

With all the electronics in modern cars, there are a few additional other parts to remove before the old battery could be taken out. So took a photograph of all the additional wires just in case I forget something.Technically I don't need AGM battery because I don't use Stop/Start feature on any car (quickest way to ruin an engine and/or turbo). The original was a Varta which lasted 6 and half years, 43,000 miles which had a bearing on my choosing Varta again.

Battery replacement

Quick (next day) & fairly easy battery replacement by engineer who clearly knew his stuff and was familiar with the obscure location of the battery in my car! The visit includes checking condition of old battery and testing alternator etc.However, the RAC website recommended the wrong battery even though it got the right make and model from DVLA on input of my reg.no. The correct battery was sourced from RAC local base in under an hour of the engineer discovering the mismatch, so all well and good on the practical front.The resulting admin was not as slick. Contrary to what it says on the website, the price did increase as a result, and I had to pay a second time and wait for a refund on the first payment, which arrived a few days later.

Its all about quality and power

This AGM battery has plenty of power and never fail to crank at first attempt even in extreme cold morning temperature. Built quality is good. It does the job very well. I couldnt comment on reliability and lifespan over the long period of time. Because it depends on how the battery has been maintained. As long as one could take care of fully charging with trickle charger once a month and never drain the battery running flat. It could last for several years.

Nightmare Experience

Ordered and paid for Varta battery on 28th January to be fitted on Friday 29th Jan. RAC turned up with wrong battery. Said they didn't have the one I had paid for. Said they would return on Saturday with the right battery. On Saturday RAC called to say they would have to leave it until Monday as they did not have Varta battery. Would supply and fit a similar Bosch battery on Monday. RAC turned up on Monday and fitted Bosch battery which has been OK. However, still not received any confirmation/paperwork of fitted battery.

RAC Engineer tried to install the wrong battery!

I ordered the Varta battery for my car as it supported Stop/Start engines. The engineer who came to install it brought a Bosch battery because the Varta was out of stock (it wasn't) but he claimed the Bosch was identical bar the brand. I looked it up online and it turns out the Bosch didn't support Stop/Start - the engineer initially denied this but after looking it up on a third party site agreed it wasn't suitable. He then went to get the Varta from another shop and installed it.Don't RAC hold their own stock?
