I consider it the widest variety of choices and colors you can find in a Demi permanent line. I love formulating with Wella as a colorist. It leaves you with beautiful shiny, healthy feeling hair, the color choices are endless, in my opinion no other Demi-gloss or toner makes the hair feel better after. I would recommend using their gentle 6% developer for deposit only glazes or colormelts, rinsing with cold water always, but especially with red heads, and sealing with my personal favorite treatment “post color service” to lock in the tone, and seal the cuticle. Your client will dye over how good her hair smells after using post-service. It doesn’t strips your hair of its nutrients, or compromise the integrity of your clients hair. It only adds, the shine and moisture your hair needs. You can formulate with this 7/43 shade to achieve anything from a subtle luminous strawberry blonde 🍓 to coppery crimson auburn tones. The attached pictures are two different formulas, using this shade.

Pastels and soft colours require basically white blonde or platinum hair base. Anyways so I ended up mixing (HELLO LIZZIE THIS WAS THE MAIN POINT OF THE VOXBOX TO SEE HOW WELL THEY MIX AND DYE >_>) the blood orange into the coral and eventually some into the mint and proceeded with the ombré idea. Base line, my roots are great it works but the mint (now purple colour) only took on the lightener ends of my hair (which wasn’t much) and the purple is super pretty but not with this mix of hues haha. I have a weird assortment of green blondes, purpleish red and orange in my hair so I’m pretty much a walking bag of skittles lol. I don’t hate it though, I can tell there’s been a big difference in the way my hair feels, it’s a lot smoother and softer which means they got the formula perfect. This colour was wayyyyy out of my comfort zone but I don’t hate it, it’d be so much better if the other colours complimented it though haha.

This product provides the best grey coverage. Taking one star off for two reasons. I do find I have to use twice as much color than the gel color because it’s a 1:1 mix and because it is too thick. I find it hard to cover all of my hair because it tends to clump up rather than evenly distribute over my hair so I have to work harder and longer to get all hair done. I have very thick hair so it might be easier for people with less or thin hair.

This product provides the best grey coverage of any color I’ve tried. The only downside is that it is super thick and is very difficult to distribute through the hair especially if you have thick hair thus the reduction of one star. With every other color I’ve used the grey at my temples would show through after the first wash. This one does not do that.The color I use is 6 NN Toffee and it is a very dark brown color. I’ll be looking to try other colors to get it one shade lighter.The price point is on the high side since I need two tubes. Other online retailers have it for. Few dollars less. Even when Sally has it on sale the other retailers cost less.

Great product that I use 1-2x between each salon visit. I visit the salon roughly every 10 weeks for cut and half or full head highlights. I typically use this (mixed 1:2 with 4% 13 vol emulsion) as a base break about 4-5 weeks after a salon visit and then again 3-4 weeks later. It works great to lighten the color of my natural hair so that the highlights still look natural even as my roots grow out between salon visits. See the photo for example: this was taken the day after I used this product for a base break (5 weeks after a salon visit).

Let me preface this: the 1 star reviews are a cautionary tale of why you do test strands before using the product on your whole head. Any stylist will tell you, the instructions tell you: Do a strand test first!That being said, and with the added note that allergies to hair dye can develop even after years of dying your hair (any allergy to any thing can randomly develop, please use caution), but I've been using the NN1 Black Licorice for many years, now. I’ve been using Wella Color Touch for a while now, and I’m really happy with the results. As a demi-permanent hair color, it’s perfect for someone like me who isn’t looking for a drastic change or doesn’t want to commit to permanent color. The formula leaves my hair looking super shiny and healthy, and the color itself has this beautiful, multi-dimensional effect that looks really natural. For damaged hair the lowest volume emulsion, 1.9%, is best - this will only deposit the colour and not lighten the hair at all. Digital scales help to make sure the ratio of 1 part dye to 2 parts emulsion is achieved correctly. This mixes up to a lovely creamy texture which goes on to the hair really easily and doesn't drip. It has covered my greys well but subtly and given the hair a very natural-looking colour with a few golden tones among the ash. Very effective and easy to use. My hair felt soft and easy to manage. I like that it took some of the redness out of my hair as some colours seem to bring out the redness. Will continue to use this colour as my hair feels and looks so much better. The girl that helped me was excellent and was very helpful with her advice. Very happy thanks!
