I got this sample from ULTA when I bought the birthday gift for my husband. Like many TF fragrances, this scent is heavy and lasts alllll day. One spray or maybe two if you're feeling bold. I'd say this fragrance is relatively unisex but could be too sweet for some men. As others have noted, this fragrance really relies upon your body chemistry to smell right. On the wrong person it can smell downright putrid. I actually experienced this on myself one time and finally understood what everyone was talking about. I noticed that this issue does not happen if you spray the fragrance a few inches away from your skin as opposed to directly on it.

Like a medicine grandmother smell. I was glad I only purchased the 1.0oz but still mad because it still was pretty expensive. I was on my way to return it honey. But after about 15-20 mins, it started to smell so good. This scent is sensual, confident, sexy, strong, and delightful. I was sooooo shocked at how the scent changed drastically as time passed and I now totally know what the hype is about. This is such a unique scent, it smells rich and in the short amount of time of me having it, I already fell in love. Very disappointing. I have purchased Black Orchid by Tom Ford

Very disappointing. I have purchased Black Orchid by Tom Ford for several years both from Selfridges and more conveniently for me from MyPerfumeShop. it has always been my favourite perfume. However, this particular time my purchase from MyPerfumeShop has absolutely no smell. I tried it on my skin as usual then on my scarf etc and there is absolutely no scent. My daughter asked me several times why i don't use perfume these days. She tried it on herself and said ' Mother you have paid for a bottle of water' Same bottle as the normal Tom Ford - Black and Gold. Whoever supplied MyPerfumeShop with this item needs looking into. It is too expensive to have no scent at all. I do hope my daughter buys it for Mothers day for me. !
