I'd never tried an [brand:essie] nail polish before this #NetflixandNails campaign/contest. I thought the whole Netflix Nail art concept was a great idea, so I immediately wanted to participate. I was very excited to bee able to try top do some nail art. It was a very fun way to spend my time, especially with the quarantine going on! I visited Ulta's website and picked out a few colors. The guest thing that I noticed was thew high price tag on these polishes. The lowest priced nail polishes were $9 a piece, which is way more than what I'm normally willing to spend, but it wad for a fun time, so I went ahead and shopped. Even with the $2 cash back reward, these are still very expensive nail polishes. It was so hard to narrow it down to just a couple of colors (I only ... Even with the $2 cash back reward, these are still very expensive nail polishes. It was so hard to narrow it down to just a couple of colors (I only got 2 due to the $9 price tag). I ended up with 2 pretty basic yet very pretty shades: a light blue color called, "bikini so teeny," and a pety shade of light pink named, "into the a-bliss." I hate the smell of nail polish, and that wad no exception with this brand. I did like the packaging. It was simple yet elegant and pretty. So far, I've used the light blue shade, and the quality of this nail polish stylishly blew me away. I was not expecting them to be much different in quality to other nail polishes on the market, but these nail polishes are truly superior! I typically need to do at least 2 coats on my nails with any polish that I use. With the Essie nail polish, 1 coat was more than enough! I was shocked and very happy! Suddenly, the high price made sense! Perhaps, you get what you pay for with nail polishes, because these are of very high quality. I've honestly never used a better polish. Now, I'll be addicted to high-priced nail polishes. :) Thank you, @influenster for introducing me to Essie nail polish! I don't know if I'd have tried this brand without the fun contest! Il definitely be buying more, cash back rebate or not! I'd recommend these Essie nail polishes to anyone that is looking for a high quality polish that goes on easy and doesn't chip right off!

I really enjoy the range of colors Essie has. They are so different and unique and of great quality. Like any other nail polish, you really want to make sure you're wearing a base and top coat to ensure that it lasts as long as possible. The base coat is especially important to prevent staining your nails and to protect your nail bed from excessive damage. It's even better if you can find a base coat with nutrients and vitamins. Essie colors of full of live, vibrancy, and boldness. You can really see the feminine and masculine inspiration within the colors themselves. You do need to do a couple coats because some of the light colors tend to be very sheer. The formula itself too is rather watery so you want to make sure you are taking off excess polish form the brush ... MoreI really enjoy the range of colors Essie has. The formula itself too is rather watery so you want to make sure you are taking off excess polish form the brush so it doesn't run unto your cuticles and/or skin. I do really love their glittery polishes as well. But like all other glitter nail polishes, they have a clear polish base to them. What I like to do to myself and my own clients is to use a triangular makeup sponge to apply the glitter polish. You can do this on a clean nail with only a base coat or you can use a nude or white color to set the tone and really make sure they pop. A pretty annoying thing that does happen with this nail polish is that it gets very clumpy and sticky even well within the period where it's at its' best. You can use polish thinner but I feel like it gets clumpy again and it's a waste of energy and polish thinner. All try other polish brands that I've had way longer than Essie have not clumped at all. It's negative enough to make this a 3-star review. I also really love a square shaped brush because it makes it that much easier to apply the polish without the color running unto your skin and Essie has the old, rounded brush. All in all, Essie has a great range of bold and vibrant colors that last well over a week but it does need a little work on the formula and its' shelf life.

Essie nail polish is truly an acquired taste. The natural nail colors lean quite sheer but that is precisely why I love it. Truthfully, my first time with this brand I was shocked that many of their sheer nude polishes required at least 5 coats. You have to ask yourself, is it worth all the extra effort? The final result satisfied my initial doubts. The more I wore them, the more I grew to love them for their particular uniqueness even more than any other brands. Why, you ask? These were truly the most natural nail polishes of all and they provided the sort of elegance and delicateness to the fingers unmatched by other brands of polishes. These natural shades blend right in especially because of the sheerer formula that retain the naturalness of your nails while giving you the beauty of bridal nails on an everyday basis.

I bought the “Nakey Nakey” Pink, “So Nude” Grey and the “Rude Not To” Green colours. These are once again, AMAZING colours and formulas from Nails Inc. They have a very soft, satiny look to them which is very unique and PERFECT for Spring. As usual, they apply like soft butter, the wide brush only needs 1-3 strokes and they self level. I did need two coats since I’ve found two thin coats last longer than one thick one. I used Nails Inc. “Back To Life Recovery Treatment + Base Coat” since I can no longer buy the NailKale Base Coat here in Canada but it seems to make my home mani last even longer anyway. The finish of this polish is so beautiful that I didn’t want to cover it with a shiny top coat so I used the base coat, one layer of polish, one layer of the NailKale ... The finish of this polish is so beautiful that I didn’t want to cover it with a shiny top coat so I used the base coat, one layer of polish, one layer of the NailKale 45 Second Top Coat for durability and then my second coat of the Nudes Nail Polish, which dries almost as quickly as the 45 Second Top Coat and they look so pretty! I’d love to find a top coat that has he same satin finish to it so I can protect my nails from chipping...any suggestions? Overall, these polished are really pretty with their unique finish and quick dry time and are definitely worth the price since they apply so easily with the Nails Inc standard thick, rounded brush that makes your home manicures look professional, even on your dominant hand :-)

These natural shades blend right in especially because of the sheerer formula that retain the naturalness of your nails while giving you the beauty of bridal nails on an everyday basis. The delicate look is the essence of having an Essie polish. The bright shades take fewer coats to reach opacity but are just as pretty and elegant. While I can appreciate the bolder, brighter looks of other brands with full opacity in 1-2 coats, I strongly appreciate how Essie polishes can make even bright, colorful shades subtler and look like the height of sophistication, wearable even in professional environments, being stunning without drawing too much attention. I would describe Essie polishes as softer, delicate beauty. If you are looking for bolder, more extravagant looks, Essie is on the opposite end (with the exception of their glitter polishes), wonderful in its own right but more a brand for a specific kind of consumer that adores the softer, more modest variety of nail polish, a type of nail polish not as widely in abundance but highly sought after by a certain kind of nail polish lover/wearer. So if you like things simple or you are just in the mood for something softer, Essie is a fantastic brand. The thinner formula also lasted longer than my other brands. It also is much easier to remove than other brands as a result. Essie makes the best glitter polishes I have ever seen--truly the only polishes in the line that I would call extravagant if that is what you are going for and yet they are still the epitome of sophistication--flashy, sparkling, full of the most glitter in just a swipe, breathtaking in all lighting. Essie nail polishes are for a highly specific taste and for those whom these polishes are a match, this brand is pure gold.
I have always been hooked on OPI and China Glaze; for less expensive brands I buy Sinful colors and am very pleased. I finally bought a few different colors from Essie because one of my friends is hooked on the line and was so disappointed! I had a bad experience with every color I've ever tried and tried once again two weeks ago and ended up giving all my Essie colors away because they stink so bad! I always use a base coat, then apply two coats of whatever color I'm using, let it dry and than apply a top coat. No matter how much times I have done with this with every single color I've purchased from Essie, the color chips in two days, MAX! I don't do anything crazy to my finger nails, I don't bite my nails, and I wouldn't say I overwash my hands or anything to ... I don't do anything crazy to my finger nails, I don't bite my nails, and I wouldn't say I overwash my hands or anything to cause the polish to chip but it always does!! I have purchased such beautiful colors too! I rated Essie polish a three because of the beautiful color selection but that's all it gets from me; I've bought a beautiful barbie pink color, a baby pink color, and a nude color for work and every single time after about one to two days the color is chipped off and I end up putting it in my junk makeup section. I decided to give Essie one last chance and bought the nude one and applied it, only to have it come off the same day a few hours after application!! I ended up using nail polish remover, saying a few inappropriate words, and giving it to my roommate. I don't mind paying $7+ for nail polishes that actually work like OPI and China Glaze, but paying the equivalent amount for Essie is just not worth it in my opinion. I asked one of my other friends who purchased the same nude for work and tried it what she thought about it and she said she noticed it was goopy and chipped quick as well. I'm sad to know that my friend had such good luck with it, but I'll stick to my OPI and China Glaze...I have never had problems with those polish lines. I am done with Essie nail polish!
I chose only a few colors that I own, but I own over 50 of Essie's nail polishes. I get my nails done quite regularly, every two weeks for 12 years to be exact. And I also do not used the nail polishes provided. I always bring my own because I am a little bit of a germaphobe. I have tried almost every nail polish in existence and I take them very seriously. I look for a few things: pigment, drying time, how long it lasts, does it chip and many more. Essie is my all time favorite brand of nail polish. I love the colors. They have such a wide range of colors that are all beautiful and unique. Each one is thought out very well and nothing is worse than finding nail polish you love and having 10 colors to choose from. I used to sit under the lights for 45 minutes waiting for nail polish to dry, and it was horrible after sitting for an hour or more getting them done. Essie is so much faster and depending on how many coats are used it takes a maximum of 20 minutes. I never have an issue with chipping EVER! I've never has Essie chip on my nails. All in all I just have never had an issue with this polish at all. It is beautiful on the nails, it applies with ease, the brush is small and easy to use, it's just fantastic. If you are looking for a super high quality nail polish that is very reasonably priced, this is it. Also did you know Queen Elizabeth will only use Essie? True.
This is one of those milky opaque pastel shades that tends to be difficult to work with in any brand or formula. (I don't recommend those types of shades for anyone as their first home polish attempts; the are not the most forgiving to mistakes.) Like all those types of shades, this one is not fool proof. However, when it comes to those colors, this Essie formula really IS the easiest to work with of any I have tried. It's a thick almost gel like formula that positively resists streaking. I think it even completely refuses to apply unevenly or streak. As it dries it settles down and smooths to a professional looking finish. No streaks, no brush marks, no uneven texture on the nails. Classy. However, to accomplish this self smoothing finish, you have a thick formula. ... Classy. However, to accomplish this self smoothing finish, you have a thick formula. So it's easy to get a bit much on the brush. Also, like many colors of this type, and given its thick formula, it likes to grab at the cuticle or any slightly rough edge of the finger tip. My suggestion would be to have some clean up products nearby as you work and go slowly.
