Essie Nail Lacquer, You Do Blue 766 - 13.5 ml

This is the perfect springtime and summer time blue shade. It’s a vibrant shade of blue but not overly bright where it may be seen as obnoxious. Essie nail polishes go on smooth and look professionally done, just take you time and allow each coat to dry. I only do a base coat and it lasts about 1.5 weeks without chipping.

Birthday girl nail polish color

This color “birthday girl” is just so stunning, it’s probably one of my new favorites. It’s just so shiny and beautiful, it goes on super smooth too. Now I can’t say the same for the other color I got, “Muchi Muchi”. It could be due to my application technique but I’m not sure. It just didn’t go on as nice, looks a little streaky. If your looking for a beautiful shiny pink, “birthday girl” is the color for you! 💅🏻

Depends on the shade

The nail polish is nice. applies easily and dries a bit faster than other brands. during the first few hours it'll get scratches or texture until it's 100% set. (it was completely dry when I went to sleep, passed the fingerprint test, but had random scratches the next morning). after it dried it became seemingly indestructible. I work in a warehouse, I use tools and have my hands in machines all day and it didn't chip at all. (I used 3 coats) however i had another shade that chipped and budged just from washing dishes and playing with a one year old. in any other case I'd say its way too expensive to risk getting a shade that has a 50/50 chance of chipping easily, but target has a good return policy

Do not waste your money

I would never buy this product again. Especially for the price. I purchased the Good as Gold for a wedding I am in. I typically wear Sally Hansen but i loved this color. I painted my nails a few weeks before to see how I liked it. The polish chipped in less than 12 hours. I thought maybe I washed the dishes too much or something. Fast forward. Did my nails at 12:30 am when I had some me time. Nails were fully dry (only good thing about this polish is it dries quickly). My nails chipped by noon. I did not wash a single dish or clean anything. They just randomly chip off. Waste of time and money. I do not recommend buying this product. Even with a good clear coat it’s still chipping.

Essie in shade Play Date 300

Searching for polish today I saw this shade Play Date 300 and loved it. Yes, it's Fall season but who cares. Depending on your monitor, of course, colors can look different in person, but on mine, what I received was spot on to the photo here. Took photos of 1 coat then 2 from left to right. I always use a base coat and topcoat when doing my nails then capping the tips. It helps to make the polish last longer and helps to keep it from chipping and peeling from the ends. The first nail I painted, I didn't realize how quickly it would start getting tacky, like drying, so you can't keep brushing over the nail as you're putting on a coat. I applied more polish to the brush the second time around than I did the first time and used the 3 stroke method quickly without brushing over it twice. Worked like a charm. Then I put my nails under the dryer. It dried much quicker than I expected. When dry, the polish has a nice shiny finish on the surface. Looks like you put on a topcoat. I decided to apply a 2nd coat and let dry. Then I applied a fast drying topcoat and capped the tips again. They look great and the color is very pretty. This shade would look nice on any skin tone. Giving it 4 stars because it's kind of thick and gets tacky quickly so you need to work swiftly to get a good result.

I was worried but the wear time is astonishing!

I've noticed Essie polishes are different depending on color (and probably age?) -- I just got the "you do blue" color. It's a beautiful periwinkle with a tiny-tiny amount of pink-lilac shimmer. When I first put it on, I was skeptical: it went on very thin and streaky, yikes. The second coat gave better coverage, and Essie has something in the formulation that is "self-leveling" or whatever -- basically, despite the streakiness, it looked fine by the time it dried. (Admittedly, it would look even better with a third coat or a topcoat, but I'm lazy.) Ok, so then: I did that a week ago and it STILL going strong! See picture -- almost no chipping without a basecoat or topcoat. I'm so impressed!

Long lasting polish

Long lasting nail color. I used a layer of the Essie base coat, then 2 layers of this color (topless/barefeet), followed by 2 coats of the Essie (long wear top coat). The color of this polish on my brown skin is like a pink nude. No bubbling on my nails. I’m approaching a week and they’re good, no chipping or peeling.

Mademoiselle

One coat of Mademoiselle and it looks great apart from the places I messed up on! lol I usually use two coats and it becomes more opaque and smoother. It is one of the more white sheers, so with two coats it looks more opalescent than pink. Warning: do not get sunscreen on nail polish!!! It breaks it down and makes it sticky. This nail polish in the picture got sunscreen on it 24 hours previously though but I washed it off with soap and water and it went back to normal, as shown. ALSO CAN PEOPLE PLEASE INCLUDE THE NAMES OF THE POLISH THEY’RE REVIEWING?? I am dying at these comments showing off beautiful polish but not saying what color it is when Essie has so many that look alike!! 😭

TOO EXPENSIVE

Boatloads of love is a beautiful muted, creamy white. It’s not pink, not even slightly - more of a grayish undertone. It’s not iridescent - not at all even though the bottle looks like it. It’s very streaky - 3 coats for decent coverage. And it dries weird, almost like it’s old polish which sucks because I literally just bought this. Idk how well it wears but judging by the tiny bubbles forming and how long it’s taking to fully dry, I’m not hopeful. Super disappointing considering the price!

Wicked

I adore essie's Wicked. It only takes one coat to get the gorgeous black cherry color. It needs to be reapplied after a couple days though, if not using a topcoat. Personally, I don't mind because I enjoy painting my nails with this color and just the color alone looks fantastic. As far as I know, no other brand makes this particular shade of dark red and makes it accessible and affordable. ❤️
